Before you start with me personally Im 6 ft,240 and do all right the girls... However ,did you ever think how vain we all are?? I bust my ass to try and look like a stud in the gym but the dudes the girls check out arent the huge meatheads but the smaller looking pretty boys. Im just starting to realize as I get older, 32, that Ive been so into the physical my whole life Ive neglected other stuff. Im also realizing after 16 years of training,big muscles wont make you better looking and some lil Eminem looking pig will still get hot girls. It kills me....     | ||

You are kind of right, I have nver been very huge, I have always been one of those skiny guy who would hardly ever take my shirt off at the beach. Ten about 2yrs ago, I had to goto a new high school, where I met the bet looking girl of the school(a major blonde hottie) who was the nicest girl that I have ever scene. 2 rpoblems though, se was with this so called "all star" wide reciever for about 6mths already. Well, I took care of that problem and we have been togethor for 1yr 9mths and 2days now. And she loves that my muscles are getting bigger now, freakin' loves it! That is one of the reasons why I am going to start jucin'. Only problems that I haven't worked out yet re the whole "high maintenance" thing, and all the attention she gets. I have been in more fights in the past 1yr 9mths, then I have been in my whole life. Some guys are just goofs, and don't have any respect. They have never had an attractive girl before so they thinkt's cool to scream shit out there car, but what about that 1 poor soul who heard wat I said back to him, and ended up having a hard time getting back into his car.(with a broken tail light) was it worth it for him to say shit? I dont think so. Never judge a book by i'ts cover, it may turn around and kick your ass! | ||

Ok, some do, some don't it's personal choice. I used to love the good old days when chicks would go for my body and working the doors I took FULL advantage of it! It's the same way with guys. Some like thin women, some like muscular, some like curvy, some even like fat! Some are fussy, some will f*ck anything that moves. If this is the reason you train then really you are not a true bodybuilder. True bodybuilders train for themselves and winning a show or personal achievement is their main motivator. Girls are just a pleasent side effect that can happen. From personal experience though I have found that most of these girls who go only for looks are usually very single minded and not the type to understand your true reasons for training. They also usually develop into jealous types and don't support you in your training. My G/f says she loves me and doesn't care if I am big or small, but at the same time she supports me in all aspects of my bodybuilding, because she knows that it makes me happy. She trains herself, with higher intensity than most of the guys at my gym, for her own goals. She loves the fact that I am so dedicated to something and that I still make time for her and everything else in my life. Since I have been with her I am happier, with less worries and as a result I am growing faster than ever. | ||

Through my experience, just as many girls don't like skinny guys as there are girls that don't like big guys! Most women check out your face and appearance, the way you dress and carry yourself. Women like men who clean up nice, have confidence and are good looking. I guess I've just been lucky to get good genes because I have all three! Chicks in NY definetly dig muscles, but I relized that you gota be some what ripped. I personaly don't like the off season look myself. Abs are what seperates the men from the boys. Any slob can go to the gym 5 days a week and throw shit loads of heavy wieght around and go home. I have noticed that too but you are forgetting a major factor in the equation...money. A lot of those rich dudes are skinny little arrogant fuckers who never have done a hard days work their whole life. So why would he drag his lazy trust fund ass to the gym? My current girl kind of liked smaller guys becuase like a lot of women, big guys intimidated her. Now she says she could never date a skinny guy again if we broke up. Bulldogs got it all right!!!!Bulk is out, Lean is in. Ripped abs, vascularity, nice muscle seperation. Its like the difference between Arnold and Dorian. Dorian is ubdoubtably larger but arnold had far superior symmetry and body composition. | ||

I don't think it's about bigness, smallness, baldness, Brad Pit look, it's about confidence, how you carry/present yourself, intelligence, charm, charisma, intellect and most importantly financially stable. Women tend to look at the older men because they are financially stable and will be able to provide stability if anything were to go a stray. �Muscle heads� have always been around and have always been portrade as "big and stupid". Unfortunately that is what we have to deal with. If you have muscles and stand out like a sore thumb while walking the streets you automatically carry with you the stereotype that has plagued the Body building world sense the age of time...Stupidity, violent and the intellect of a chick pea. Now, it's up to the individual to overcome the latter. Trust me, women dig a �muscle-heads� who is educated, independent, charming, and has intellect. If the woman sees the dedication, perseverance, and passion that you put into lifting, that will be translated into the realm of relationships. I can assure you that women do not want to go out with guys that have the same shoulder size or leg size as them. My girlfriend and I are lifting buddies, we shoot up together, and we prepare each other�s protein/gainer shakes. So I'm set. She was not drawn to me by the 5 8' 235lb man, but by my diverse back ground, emotional and financially stability and intelligence. As I 've bigger over the years, I have noticed that chicks prefer big guys. I don't think freaky big like Lee Priest, but I coupla size levels below they love. Also, as said above they hate the off season bloat, want mass and definition - don't we all! | ||

I think a good medium of what girls like is the mens heath look. They are not big guys, but they are not small either. They have good definition and are not overly big. Its a healthy look....that is what girls like. If your lifting to get huge in anticipation of having girls fall all over you....you are going to be very disapointed. Also, even if you do have a great body, of you dont carry yourself well and have a good personality....your finished from the start. | ||

A couple of important points are being missed here. #1. You cant generalize women like that. Its stupid to even THINK that "all" women like a particular type of guy. #2. Different generations have different ideals of what is "manly". Women in their late 30's and into their 40's grew up on the Burt Reynolds, rugged manliness. Or John Travolta and the psuedo-chavenistic manliness and swagger. Girls in their late teens and twenties are into the more androgenous look of Leonardo Dicaprio. No muscle, and almost girlie good looks. Or Brad Pitt. Christ, the guy grows a pathetic goatee and is seen as "rugged". The guy couldnt beat Kate Moss arm wrestling! But the point is that there is a different standard of "manliness" with every generation, but women will still have personal preferances... #3. Women dating little men will TELL them they arent into muscles. These are often the same women who (when their boyfriend isnt around) ask you how big your arms are and how much you can bench and giggle like theyre 13 years old. #4. A lot of life experiances go into your preference in a boy/girlfriend and all these things affect your decisions in what you find attractive, along with media influence! Pretty boys will always appeal to a lot of women, thats a fact of life, but a musclular man will always have a few female admirers, too! (Crap, I hope so at least) Am I biased? Hell yeah! 5' 10" tall and weighing between 250 and 275lbs. With looks that will NEVER be considered "pretty boy", Im definatly on the "big boy" side, not the "pretty boy" side... ------------------ | ||
