I am stuck with jury duty, again. It a god damn conspiracy. My 3rd, and I am only 24. This is great, really great. I have to wake up really fucking early and drive one hour to the court house, and put up with this bullshit. I swear to you, if there was a war, I would be the first mother fucker to be drafted.

Sorry about the whinning, but I am pissed off because none of my friends ever get called. If anybody knows how to get out of it; please let me know because I know 3 years from now they will call me again and again and again and again.

My county in Ga uses the record of voting as their list. I believe it. I skipped 2 voting years and didn't get called. Voted this year and was called last week. Good luck.

I think it varies by state, but in Florida they use drivers licenses not voter registration. Here are some tips:

(1)if its gonna be a criminal trial, the defense attny will probably ask for a show of hands of potential jurors---"if you voted right now how many of you think my client is innocent?". DO NOT RAISE YOUR HAND. The idea here is you are suppossed to assume the person is innocent until PROVEN otherwise. Do this right & the defense will kick you out of the prospective pool

(2) Look for other angles particular to the case. If it involves a crime with a gun. Make sure you indicate you are in the NRA & that you own guns---"guns dont cause crime, people cause crime" one or both sides will kick you. If its a civil suit, comment on how ridiculous it is that the US is such a litigious society and we are so prone to sue at the drop of a hat, etc.

I'm like you. My ass gets called every 2-3 years just like fuck'n clockwork, but I have never actually been picked to serve on a jury & dont intend to be picked.

Also the day of the week you are called in can be important. For example, Wednesday or Thursday are the best because not many trials start in mid-week & the ratio of potential jurors to trials is usually larger in the middle & latter part of the week. In most states, they cant call you up again to be screened for at least 2-3 years after you've come in & sat for selection.

Hope this helps dude.

I got called for a murder trial, fuck...I sure as shit didn't want to deal with all that bullshit....sooooooooooo, here's what Ole Ranger did to get out of it...

The night before I did not shower, I got up, put on dirty clothes, didn't brush my hair, nor did I comb my teeth....Just before I went into the courthouse, I ate a box of Oreo Cookies....They asked me to leave on the first round.....ain't been called back since....

Become a cop. You can never be truly impartial once you are a cop, especially in a criminal trial.

If you were drunk or stoned and went in you most likely would be arrested for contempt of court and public intoxication.

Chesty made a very good point about the "cop" option. You don't have to be a full-time cop either---depending on where you live, you may be able to get on as a volunteer reserve officer/deputy sheriff. For around 10 hours a month, you can not only get out of jury duty, but probably get out of most traffic tickets & maybe get to carry a concealed gun in areas that would otherwise be prohibited even with a valid "permit to carry". The downside is, most large urban areas even require unpaid reserves to be certified police officers, but back home in podunk, thats not required. Just a thought.
