Remember those gigantic 6lb Ericsson phones that cellphone companies gave out for 1 penny to get you to buy their service? Remember how everyone got rid of them once they actually started making good phones that weren't the size of your foot? Guess what, I still have one of those Ericsson phones. I'm getting rid of it ASAP, and I'm looking at the Nokia 8290 for my replacement. Have any of you ever had this phone or have known someone who has it and have some comments on it for me? The only provider in my area that supports it is VoiceStream - heard anything about them? Or, if none of the above, could any of you recommend a good wireless phone for me? It has to be small enough so that it doesn't screw up my pants by making the pocket stick out 10 feet. Thanks for any help,    | ||

I think that any modern phone will be better than your gigantic 80's phone. I think that any nokia phone is nice. I like the one with the snake game on it the most. ------------------  | ||

Hmmm I have the 8260, not sure if its the same thing...its the little red one from Charlies Angels...The service I have is AT&T. My brother and mom both have voicestream, formerly known as Omnipoint, and I think it pretty much sucks. At&T is pretty shitty as well in alot of areas. It depends primarily on the area in which you live (depending on where cellular towers are built for that provider). The phone itself is AWESOME. I couldn't be happier with any other phone. ------------------ | ||
