Well, I know it's a long shot, but is anyone out there a gamer with deep pockets (or know someone who is) and has (or knows someone who has) the Microsoft Force Feedback Pro 2 joystick? If so, would any of you happen to know how long the cable is?

I've gotta get myself a new joystick to play Mechwarrior 4 and since the cable on the Force Feedback 2 is USB I'm curious as to how long it is cause my USB scanner has quite possibly the shortest cable in the world and it barely reaches my system.

Thanks. I'd greatly appreciate any info. =)

Warik, you could check out www.combatsim.com go to their hardware board. One of those guys is bound to have one.
I have an older sidewinder which is usb and the cord is easy long enough.
Is mech4 out?

Thanks, Smash. I'll check out the board.

Yep, Mech4 is out. I just got it yesterday for $34.95 at EB. I'm just so pissed that I can't play it without a joystick. My friend is playing it with his mouse, but I just CAN'T play a flight combat sim or Mechwarrior type game without a joystick. I did fool around in the training missions and some of the instant action missions, though, and I must say that the graphics, especially at 1600x1200 resolution, are breathtakingly awesome.
