A few years ago Gab and I were out for a walk and noticed a sign for a yard sale. We decided to take a peek and walked over. There were one or two items of interest. Gab and I rummaged through things, asked about prices, etc. But at one point we saw that there was an old woman looking through a screen door at the proceedings of this yard sale. Her posture was sort of slumped in defeat and there was very sad classical music (I imagine that it must have been on one of those old fashioned phonographs) playing in the background. She looked utterly heartbroken as she watched people pick through her belongings. It was a very sad moment for us both. | ||

i got one billy... at thanks giving dinner my uncle declared that he had brought the slides from when all my aunts and uncles were young... they were my grandfathers.. well, all the pics were great and everyone is laughing and then BOOM, my grandpa is on the wall with a huge smile on his face... my grandma looks with everyone dead silent and says "hi jim"... i had to leave the room, its the first time i have seen him in 17 years... anything? i think i cried cuz of the test and deca. | ||

About a month ago Gab and I decided to take a walk through New Orleans oldest cemetery, the St. Louis. A cemetery can make for a great walk on a sunny, summer's day--lots of trees and interesting markers of so many lives lived. One of the markers caught my eye. It listed the births and deaths of a number of members of a family around the turn of the century. At the very bottom of the list was an inscription for a three year old girl. It said that her final words were: Sing me to sleep. | ||
