however they have software that logs all user activity and while we thought we covered our tracks, we forgot some things that left a trail back to us.... they couldn't prove anything for most of us, but the rest of the guys lives were living hell for a few months...moral of the story revise like a bitch or cheat in your finals.

The amount Nike pays these people is not a slave wage in Malaysia, Indonesia, etc. And it's their governments that allow child labor, not ours.

Zyclon, you are calling others ignorant but you are just uninformed. Nike provides a huge boost to the economy of these countries. It is their governmental leaders who have allowed their nation's wealth to become concentrated in the handsof so few, and who let their own people live in conditions that are atrocious.

In fact, by using their markets for manufacturing, the United States is destroying their economy. Haven't you noticed that none of those 3rd world countries (including Mexico) are not getting any more advanced. They are being destroyed by informal colonialism. That means the US controls the government and has them do the US's bidding (including placing a Nike plant there and encouraging child labour).

In order to develop, they need native industry and manufacturing. This cannot be accomplished when they are being anally raped by the west through depleting their natural resources and by being being overwhelmed by foreign corporations that do not re-invest their profits into the developing country (and invest it in the US instead).

Nike is doing nobody but their shareholders a favor.

The governments of these countries alone hold the responsibility of developing their country.

But what would these people be doing if not for the Nike "opportunities"?

Nike has only been around since the 1970's. These places (Mexico, Indonesia) were not exactly industrial leaders then or ever.

The governments of these countries are only too happy to let Amercian companies build there, and they know exactly what is going on. Nike is not holding them back.

It is not an American company's responsibility to develop Malaysia.

I am not a Nike shareholder. I do, however, look forward to your response.

As for 3rd world countries...most of them were far more advanced than Europe up until the 1400s (including India, China, Egypt, Mexico (because of the Aztecs and the Incas)...etc). In fact, Europe was a backwater compared to most societies at the time.
