Just wanted to get your attention with the steroid bit, OK I got a question my friend that lives outta state has a 00 CBR 929, brand new he has it paid off and has full coverege insurance on it, he wants me to come to his state pick it up it a truck bring it back with me and I call him tell him I made it he calls the police tells them it is gone he collects money, i get bike switch the motor and everything to another bikes frame that is not HOT, like a salvage frame or something, then I take it to the DMV and get it licened like nothing ever happened to it.What do you all think will it work and does the DMV only check the frame VIN number or do they check the engine number too, dont want a flame, just wanted to know if this would work, sounds to good to be true.

It is risky because some at the DMV will check all VINs and some will only check the main one. It is a gamble. Ask yourself if it is worth it.

forgot this I got a frame located with a clean title for 3000.00 so if you look at it I could have a 929 for 3 grand and some work.

Hey Mule the only problem is if you have a major problem with the bike and have to have it serviced by a Honda dealership they will check one of the VINS on the engine....Alot of the stolen bikes and shit show up on the manufactures computers.....

That is the oldest game in the book, somebody will SEE SOMETHING at the time your "picking up the bike" and you will go down in history. But anyways best of luck if you try.

I know some people that have done it. You'll have to get an "R" title after you put it back together. When it needs serviced, take it to a private shop if you're worried about it. Not to say you won't get busted, but I've seen it done before.

I don't think the dealerships really check out the vin for any reason. I've had two bikes with polished frames, so you couldn't find the vin on the frame. They
never even bothered checking it out. Maybe they're just lazy where I live though.

I got a funny story for ya. We were taking my buddies brand new harley up to CO from Oklahoma in the back of a new z-71. He was moving his stuff from the dorms back home. He had all his clothes and tv's everthing he owned in there. I guess a cig got tossed out and landed in a sack of clothes. It caught fire and melted the rubber fuel line and drained the tank of gas out into the bed of the truck..Everthing burned. No insurance yet...I still cry when I see a Hog..

Very common!!! In my area hot new bikes go for 800-1500 depending on condition. They get them from insurance jobs or just plain steal them and sell it off. You buy the hot bike swap everything with your shitty bike and bam! Your riding a 89 ZX-9 LOL!!! Hell, nobody I know that has a bike ever pulls over to get his papers checked. I have seen BRAND NEW ZX-9 and GSX R750 with the fucking keys!!! How can you beat that!!!

A couple of people I know do this shit for a living. Pisses me off to say the least. How would you feel if you spent your hard earned money on a bike, and it got stolen.

This is going to make me go nuts again. I work for a large ins co. ^This is stealing from everybodys pocket on this board. FRAUD is the reason we all PAY high ins. It is not because of bad drivers it is because of FRAUD. We now have a large SIU(special investigation unit) to recover losses and convict offenders.
