I play the drums (rather poorly I might add) but what it the best drum solo any of my fellow beat boys think is the best...Im going to say right off the bat it is Neil Peart on YYZ (from the band Rush for you guys who don't know. In my opinion he is the absolute best drummer we have seen in the last 20 years..there are other very good drummers out there but "Neil is God" in my opinion..can't be touched..Lets here some of my Oilskin brothers opinions..and if you have an MP3 of a good solo..feel free to pass it along...

NEIL, ALL THEY WAY!!!
JUST A MINUTE I HAVE TO PUT SOME RUSH IN.

I'VE SEEN A LOT OF BIG ACT'S BUT THE BEST DRUM SOLO SEEN IN PERSON WAS A TRIBUTE BAND TO VAN HALEN.
THE DRUMMER STARTED OFF WITH DRUM STICKS THEN HE WENT TO BILLY CLUBS. WHEN YOU THINK THE SOLO IS CLOSING HE TAKES A PAIR OF BASEBALL BATS AND JUST KEEPS ON GOING FOR A COUPLE MORE MINUTES. HE WORKS HIS WAY BACK DOWN TO THE CLUBS AND THAN THE STICKS.
COME TO THINK OF IT HE HAD A GOOD SET OF ARMS ON HIM.
THIS BY FAR WAS THE BEST DRUM SOLO I'VE SEEN IN PERSON.

if u want to hear a short but very sweet solo by Tre Cool of Green Day download Burnout...its not that its long but it is so fast how he moves around the set and makes no rimshots, he was just as good in concert too..

Peart is undoubtedly talented but I never liked rush. If you want a pounding under rated rock drummer check out Clem Burke from Blondie then the Eurythmics. In particular "Dreaming" by Blondie that must be two fucking guys.Tony Thompson is a fucking great drummer but I think he mostly does session work. He did one record with Power Station years back and drummed for some kind of Page Plant/ Led zepplin reunion gig.
