Have you tried ART? Most insurance will now cover the cost. ------------------ The moral? It doesn't matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle, when the sun comes up - you had better be running.

WHAT IS ART? I HAVE BEEN TO ZERO DOCS SINCE SURGERY WAS WHISPERED TO ME.

I gave ART a try for a couple of sessions on a hamstring and elbow injuries. It did help somewhat at the time -- still have the problems, but they are less pronounced now. Maybe if I would have gone to a couple more appointments... I went out to Colorado Springs to have them done (about 11 hrs from where I live) so I could only get in a couple over the week that I was in Denver. Might be worth a try -- insurance did cover most of it. Dr. Leahy at the Champion Health Clinic is who I went to (he is one of the inventors of ART). As an aside, TESTOSTERONE is housed in the same building as Leahy (think it's just by chance they plug him?) As I left from my second appointment, I ran into Charles Polquin training somebody in the downstairs gym. Knew he looked familiar, but didn't recognize him until I had left... ------------------

ART is anything the artist can portray, Art is found anywhere one looks, it is in the eye of the beholder. Remember Kindergarten when you drew your hero Michael Jackson, that was art. ------------------

ART is ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE. Here's some info: ------------------

ART = Active Release Therapy. Basically a DEEP tissue massage which breaks down adhesions and scar tissue which has built up over the years. I know that many pro BB'ers have had this done. My personal experience is limited to a guy at my gym. Doc told him he had cuff problems, and to get cut on. This was a big dude ~ 240lbs. It got so bad that he could not DB press 35 pounds. After 3 sessions of ART, he was back up to using the 75's. About 3 months later, he is at all time PR's on all pressing movements. Good luck. Keep us posted.

SHADOW, THAT GUY SOUNDS LIKE ME... 245 AND I SOMETIMES CANT BENCH A 45 LB BAR WHEN I WOULD HAVE A GOOD DAY (GOOD DAY= A DAY WHEN I CAN SUFFER THROUGH THE PAIN) I CAN STILL GO DECENT ON DB'S, BUT BAD DAYS FAR OUTNUMBER GOOD ONES... I WILL LOOK INTO "ART"... DOES A DOC HAVE TO TELL YOU TO HAVE IT DONE OR CAN YOU MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

I would get your doc to make an appointment. A referral would make it harder on the insurance company to deny coverage. [This message has been edited by The Shadow (edited November 22, 2000).]
