In the recnet days we have seen a number of posts in regard to race. It appeard that when someone tried to make a joke in regard to a persons race a bunch of folks got all pissed off. Here is my question. Is it just me or have we all become to sensitive to this issue? I think we have. My god any innocent comment anymore could get your butt sued, fired or set on fire! Also do you think there is a double standard when it comes to some races? i.e Black guys saying something and if a White guys says the same in the same context he is wrong. Background on Poon daddy; I grew up with some of the best guys in the world.They just happend to be Black. I am a white guy.No I was not a 'wigger'. We were all just a bunch of guys. Yes I am a Police Officer so I hear all the crap about you only stopped me because I am , Black,Arab and even I had someone say I only stopped them because they were from Canada.???? Arent we all just a little too Sensitive anymore? Ok , I feel better now.      | ||

DURING MY BALL PLAYING DAYS I WAS KNOWN AS "WHITEBOY"... USUALLY I WOULD HEAR IT A FEW TIMES PER DAY... LAST TIME I PLAYED ABOUT A MONTH AGO THEY CALLED ME WHITEBOY ABOUT 30 TIMES... I DIDNT CARE... YES, OTHER RACES ARE JUST AS BAD AS WHITES, BUT THE THING I HAVE HEARD NUMEROUS TIMES IS THAT THE MINORITY CANNOT BE RACIST... I DONT SEE HOW THATS TRUE... SOME SAY THAT ONLY BLACKS CAN HAVE RACISM AGAINST THEM AND THATS CUZ OF THE OPRESSION SUFFERED THROUGH... WHO KNOWS.. | ||

It's possible that things are a bit too sensitive... but I haven't lived in someone elses shoes to know how they think or what they feel when something is said. I've spent my time living in el barrio here in Houston, however I don't know how other people live or feel. | ||

i grew up in a gated community on a golf course... i am completely insensitive to the needs of others... i don't give a rat's ass...you aren't allowed pass the gaurdhouse so it concerns me little.... | ||

No I have never stoped a girl just because she was Hot. Hell YA I have wanted to. But Its just too risky. I cant accept that History logic.I have never owned a slave or even seen a slave for that matter. I mean at what ppoint do we move on? You are right,which was my point , They say white boy and its all ok. but If I said blackboy ooo god all hell breaks loose. In my experience the parents of my friends were far more racist then the white parents were????I mean is that ok at any level? | ||

I am telling you guys this race thing is growing in America. We are getting further apart, Black and Whites. I SEE NO GOOD REASON AS TO WHY THIS SHOULD CONTINUE. Example. There is a shopping mall near me.Over the Summer a Black guy and his Family were in Lord and Taylor,during the course of their shopping there were observed lifting several items. On the way out his daughter was caught on camera taking a bracelet, remmoving the tag and puttingit on her wrist and leaving the store. Store security confronted the family in the parking lot. They i.d themselves as store security, it was 2 guys and a female security. | ||

poon daddy, you should know this, I can't believe I have to explain this--- According to the NAACP black people are NEVER wrong, if they kill someone, its because a white guy made them, its so obvious, if they are fired its because of their skin color, it doesn't matter if 700 white guys were fired and 1 black guy, its still discrimination. By the way poon, that last story made me sick to my stomach, just imagine if the guard was white, I'm sure no charges would of ever been filed do to racial profiling, who cares if they caught them on camera, its still discrimination to confront them. ------------------ | ||

Not to start trouble here. But I am a white male and it seems to me every time a black person hears something a bit out of context they go crazy and get all defensive. I do not know why this is, but it happens all of the time. A lot of them also think that the white man is trying to put them down all of the time. This is not true. If the black people would put the past were it belongs, in the past. I don't think we would have as many problems. | ||
