I think after the new year I'm going to expand a little, everything is down now, but I'm getting a little bored. Aside from my 401K, All my shit is in mutual funds and Blue chips, like Oracle, Home Depot, AOl..etc. Everything is moving slowly. Does anyone have any cheap short term sleepers? And do you use a broker?    | ||

I just put money into a penny stock of a company called China Cyberworks. They are not trying to be the biggest or the best, just trying to become a thorn in the side of one of their competitors and hoping the competitor buys them out. I just received 8000 shares of stock from my company, but have no idea what I am going to do with it. I got 3000 shares with my last contract and sold that shit right away for $74 a share. Then the company hit hard times......

YOu never know is damned right. I am keeping all my mutual funds and blue chips, but I got some extra cash to play around with. I may just buy some more shares of some of my main money makers, but I;m thinking of a little more diversification. I've got a few broker friends trying to fight over the money I want to shell out, but the only thing that sucks is that they get paid whether I make money or not. | ||

TD Ive only dabled in penny stock, loosing my ass right now too. I work for one of the worlds largest banks so I just walk over to our investment dept and thell them what I wanna do. so Ive never used a broker or anything. sorry man, I cant help ya much here. | ||

search my posts, i have been screaming about CTXS! in this down market the last three weeks it is up 50%!! Lots of upside, compare this to CIEN, it is gonna run. they are the maket leader in the ASP market, a 500 million dollar market that is supposed to be a 7.2 BILLION dollar market by 2004. Can you spell MICROSOFT! | ||

I picked up 75 shares of intel at $36 a couple weeks ago. A friend from another board told me about ELOT. He said they have an announcement to make soon. I bought 4000 shares at $1. It's now at 70 cents. I trusted him because he also told me about TSRG. I bought tsrg at 7 cents a share and it went to 30 cents a share. | ||

Remeberit is the percentage increase that matters, not the numbers. In other words, if you buy a stock at 4.00, and it goes up to 6.00, you just made 50%. If youy buy it at 50, and it goes to 75, same gains. Which do you think is more likely? | ||

I use a broker at Merrill Lynch that has most of my money in managed wrap accounts, except for a few dollars here and there that I use for individual stocks. To those of you that dont use a broker, you should consider it. I get IPO's, free checking, and quality servce with my broker.Plus dont have time to mess with all the leg work that goes into investing, I need to concentrate on my own job.And by the way I may not be hitting home runs but I am up 18% year to date. | ||

sorry to hear that my friend. You might want to try "shorting a stock" in this kind of market, but then again, you'll have to be a day trader, or take a day off. Best of luck to ya |
