Thinking about getting a new job, problem is my boss found out and flipped out on me. Would not even speak to me. So should I give the 2 weeks if I get an offer or just bail?

Fuck your Boss!

He is not handling the situation properly!

if you have a job lined up give your 2 weeks or burn your bridges by standing up and walking out the door. Piss in his coffee first!

Give him the two weeks if it's a job you want on your resume.

I'd wait till you know that you have a new job before quitting your current one. A two weeks notice is appropriate if you feel the company treated you fairly. I think it is always good to part on good terms in the work field and not burn bridges. Your boss may be temporarily upset becasue he will have to find someone to replace you, but if you are offered a higher paying position with a good company he has to understand your decision to accept it.

Yes, you better give two weeks if you don't have another job already.

People like to see you've been working somewhere!

Although your boss may not be acting professionally, that does not give you the wherewithal to quit without notice. A two week notice of leaving is standard and customary.

Also, the last time I switched jobs, I gave two weeks notice that I had accepted an offer with a competitor. My employer paid me for the two weeks and wished me good luck on my career path.

But, I'm also a believer in the old saying, 'sometimes you have to burn a few bridges to light your way'.

Don't have the job yet, I have an interview this week. I would wait till I got the offer to give notice, but here is the story...I came in this morning and found a copy of the fax transmission sheet verifying that my fax went through and a portion of my resume was showing on it. There was a note on it from my boss stating that I should be more careful when using office faxes to find a new job. He walked by my desk right after that and I asked to talk to him. He threwhis hands in the air said he did not want to hear it and walked away. I followed him to his desk and told to to listen for a moment. I told him it was for a part time job and that he should not be so upset. he calmed down afterwards but now I am fucked. I waited for the fax receipt on friday when I sent it, but it took for ever so I forgot about it (I know i fucked up). But he is such a cock I am in a catch22. No, I am not on a cycle right now, soon though. Otherwise I would have probably snapped when he walked away while I was talking to him.

I asked about the cycle to makes sure your thinking with your head and not your hormones.

He is in the right, you shouldn't have been using company time to find a nother job and use his equipment i the process blah blah blah, I say smooth it over win his confidence back and still look for a job, once you find it give two weeks notice and hit the other job without a break. Your prospect job wont call into your boss (because youll tell him youd rather not let your current employer know since your still working) so even if he is pissed at you, they wont know. But DONT LEAVE UNTIL YOU HAVE A BETTER JOB WAITING. And better isn't always easier..

personally, id give a 2 week notice beacause its the professional way of doing things and you can still use them as a reference. if you just bolted im sure your boss would havce nothing but negativity to say about you

I wasn't on the clock, I did it after work on Friday, and they are pretty chill about using the fax and other stuff. He did not even find it, someone here found it and gave it to him, probably one of the fat cunts who works here. Why are you guys being cocks and saying "fire me?"

Yes, Give 2 weeks notice. Once you have the job. But it is very uncouth to use company equipment to get a new job. Whether they mind or not. Next time think a little bit. And not use E-mail next time to send a Resume?

When you finally leave with a new job lined up or just leave, spike his/her coffee with a MAJOR dose of acid. They will obviously cause them to melt down along with the walls, ceiling, furniture....

Then they can claim worker's comp for their
breakdown and collect money, due to the shock that your not there to pick up the pieces of there mistakes anymore. So there!!!

I tried the email and it was not going through. I was not even sending it to an employer, I sent it to a friend. My problem is he almost snapped before, what the hell is going to happen if I tell him I am leaving? So no one here has used a company fax or copier before? Well what the hell are you doing checking out a roid site on company time?

I think your boss has the right to terminate you at any time. Without NOTICE.
Line something up then quit.
If you have enough money saved.....

If you have a job lined up, then give two weeks notice. And if they fire you, they have to give you severance pay. Or either you can sue.
