I work at a flower shop. $5.75/hr w/ taxes taken out Gaurenteed 16 hours a week. Every hour I work over 16 I get the same pay under the table. Not bad considering they'll let me come in whatever time I want, on any day I want, give me any day off I want for hockey or what not. Plus its more laid back, I get to work at my own pace, can use obscenities, no worry bout sexual harrassment to worry about, we got the Playboy calendar in the back where I work (not that I do that on the job), and I'm not constantly asked to donate to some charity that I have no clue what it does. ------------------ | ||

Rather than post numbers I'll post what I do.. I am a Lead Systems Admin for a MAJOR financial company on Wallstreet my group is responsible for and support a hardware and software infrastructure that has 40,000 users (4500 local) and includes real time asset exchanges which total upwards of 10's of billions of dollars daily.

i make 12 an hour but i work 40 hours per week and go to school at night for 7 hours per week and still train. not to mention the 3600 i lost football gambling this past weekend and the 300 i was screwed out of by someone on supplements | ||

my specialties? thats the problem... retail is the area i have a TON of experience in... i know the supplement industry as i worked there for a few years at gnc and vitamin outlet... i was a certified p.t. but that doesnt mean shit, its all about marketing yourself and i was never good at taht part. i am good with people, i can talk to anyone, stupid, smart, rednecks, trash, upperclass, even canadians  i wanted to be a cop, but i have poor credit, i also want to be a firefighter... i am fuckin 12 years old!!! | ||

I'm a telecom tax consultant ... I make a base of $110,000/annual plus bonuses/expenses. Sounds great, eh? Wrong! I don't have any dependents so I have no deductions and get taxed up the yazoo! Also, I live in San Francisco where my rent on my apartment is $3,200 per month and it costs me $225 a month just to park my car. I don't have a pot to piss in. | ||

Well after graduating last year, I swore I would never work for under $60 an hour. The first two contracts I didn't but this third one, I am making $58 per hour. Madbomber31, make room in that grave for another body!! This is so sad, I make $8.25 per hour to pretty much run an entire snowmobile/pwc store. I do everything there (parts mgr, sales, accessories, receptionist, A/P, etc) except turn a wrench. I am trying to work my way out of that job (need SOME cash!) so I have a part-time job at the hospital in the kitchen. Someone asked me why I like working at the hospital and I said because the pay is the same with a fraction of the responsibility! I don't mind responsibility as long as I get paid appropriately!! I think I'd like to die now, too. | ||

As for me, I too am a contract worker. I do network development and implementation. This contract is $52/hr, but I'm only working 15 hours a week while I'm in school. Hey bro's i know you aren't gonna beleive me, but i am a junior in High School and i am making a average of $43.75/hour. No Joke. I work at MCI WorldComm as a TeleMarketeer. You get a base pay of $7.50 fo just sitting on your ass. I only work weekend shifts, saturday 8:30am - 5:30pm, Sunday 11:30am - 6:30pm. You get pay for every two weekends. You also get a shit load of commision. You have a set amount of sells that you are supposed to make within those 4 days you work. The set amount where i work is 30 lines. If you get 30 lines in those 4 days of work you get a $300 bonus. If you hit 200% of Quota (60 lines) you get $900 bonus. It is really easy to hit 200% of quota. I can hit about 26 lines on a saturday, and about 23 lines on a sunday. So i average $240 for my hours for 4 days of work, plus i hit 300 % of plan so i get around $1400 in bonus on every check for 2 weeks of work! (it's really not two full weeks of work, i only work 2 weekends -4days-) Just thought that i would let you know. Syringes |
