(3) In this election, we have had hand counts in Republican Seminole County, FL - that is OK, and a hand count in New Mexico that gave him a 17 vote majority is OK. But not so in other situations. Is this the kind of person we want as president, a low life, snivelling, cheat?

(4) As Govenor, Dubya signed into law hand counts in the state of Texas, as a way of certifying a close election. The text of the law apparently states that hand counts are superior to machine count, but now his stooge, Baker, comes along (with that silly Houston accent of his) to proclaim that machines are less biased. Do they think that all people are as stupid as the Republicans? Why have remedies if one is never to use them - the remedy of a hand count was setup precisely to handle situations such as the present one.

(5) Republicans claims that time is of the essence, respect for the Presidency, etc. etc. Where was this logic in 1998-99 when they were going after President Clinton?

Actually, the case in federal court is not to challenge the ruling by the state court judge. Or do you believe everything you read? The hearing in federal court was to establish a uniform procedure for the recouint in accordance with the constitution. The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta, one step below the US Supreme Court, wants to hear the case now. Guess it has some merit.

Gore leads in New Mexico. The recouint is Seminole county was due to alleged voter fraud. (Not funny ballots or any other claims). That vote in Seminole had as much to do with Gore and Bush as this rant of yours has a basis in reality. None whatsoever.

There is a deadline imposed by Florida law and by the electoral college. It was Clinton's behavior who necessitated the investigation, not the Republicans. Ken Starr is a jerk.
