The Fifth Element (with some extra bass)

The difference between involved and committed can best be explained using a bacon and egg breakfast as an example: The chicken is involved but the pig is committed.

Get some of the essentials: Terminator2 and Aliens. You'll love the sound on them.

The first 30 min of Saving Private Ryan is fun to watch with surround sound.

Well with my setup

55" Hitachi FX Series
Technics Hardware & Mission Speakers (they make Denon Speakers) Amp puts out 6 x 100Watts RMS

DVD is using Component Video & Fiber Optic.

My favorite is Godzilla, 007 Golden Eye, Saving Private Ryan, Matrix, Brave Heart.

Most DVD's now are good. There is the odd one to not bother with. But check the back, Some old ones like The Breakfast Club, Are only Dolby Stereo.

Dolby Digital or go home

There are a ton, some good ones already mentioned, two more to add to the list, MI2 & Blade. Blade is great.

Try Godzilla, or Airforce One. The scene in Heat was excellent. You could hear the spent shells hit the pavement! Saving Private Ryan in DTS is also in the top 5.
Parasound 6 channel amp(THX)
Rotel Pre Amp
Denon 5000 DVD
All NHT speakers
Paradigm Reference Servo 15 subwoofer
Sony Wega XBR36

"The Rock" is one of the best. The scene where the jets are flying to the island to bomb it. Sounds incredible on mine.

I've posted this before, but you've inspired me to post it again

What a clutter. I have the Philips plasma TV hanging on my wall, with Bose speakers mounted flush in the ceiling throughout the loft.

The sad thing, I hardly ever watch TV and when I do, it is always at my girlfriends. Now hers is a killer, Installed and implemented by Sony and Polk Audio themselves. About a $40,000 job. You don't see the movie, you live the movie.

I have an 80" Mitsubishi bigscreen. The way the living room is set up its too close to the viewing area. We had it set up once but it looked grainy that close. Plus there is only one wall without columns and woodwork that is long enough to place everything. The big screen has been reboxed and is in storage waiting for the new house where I'm building it into the wall and all you'll see is the screen. I'm also putting a Runco projector mounted on the ceiling with a motorized drop down screen. I have a Dreamcast sitting on top of the security monitor, but I never play it anymore. I don't want a PS2 right now, you'd be stupid to buy one until they get all the bugs out of it(and there are quite a few). What you don't see in the pics is (2)NHT SW2Pi and a SW1P subs, NHT 2.5 rears, and Clark transducers in the floor.

Jae-Phillips and Bose? You don't care much for quality do you. Lets see a pic of this $40,000 theater.

Kat, you are creeping me out. I am a true modern/minimalist at heart. I can not stand clutter or disorder.

My mother is the type to save EVERYTHING. I hate that.

I prefer to decorate based on the Japanese style of less is better. Clean lines, open spaces, my art work hangs on the walls, I never hang photos, those go in frames and stand at various spots.

And I am a neat freak. I have an anal retentive nature about being clean and that means NO DUST!!!! (thank god my girlfriend is the same way.)

Is that a NHT center?? I have the same one, but on my Wega it doesn't seem to be fully shielded!!! I placed it on top of the Wega and the screen top turned green!!! I now have it on top of the Beloghetti rack. I had a 36 Toshiba before that and all was well. When I got the Sony it's shielding turn to shit!!!

Dahmer, It is VEGA not WEGA, the double V is a trademark.

And yeah I forgot about Top Gun and Days of Thunder.

Everbody else pretty much covered most of the good soundtracks except for Starship Troopers, and Lost in Space both of which are extremely dynamic and have lots of ambient sound effects.
