If want a permit to carry and live in a state where you can, you have to go to the police station for that. I think. That's what I did in CT. ------------------ | ||

i had to go to the sheriff's department.for my conceal carry it took 90 days, for my handgun permit it took 5 days. | ||

In California: To purchase a handgun For CCW: Only a politician, celebrity, or major contributor to a political party. You have to be apporved by the police chief or sheriff. Basically next to NO chance. | ||

To get a permit here in AL you have to go to the sherrif's office and fill out some paper work | ||

Gotta go to Sheriff's office to get permit to carry concealed. Finger print and background check. Had mine in about 28 days. ------------------ The moral? It doesn't matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle, when the sun comes up - you had better be running. | ||

What slickMick said. It all depends on your state. Give it up if you live in a Democrat enclave. If you live in a high crime area, chances are that handguns are illegal for law-abiding citizens to carry. I took my Liberal girlfriend to the range with me this weekend. She got a great education in the nonsensical nature of gun laws in America. ------------------ | ||

Do you live in NY State or NY City? If you live in the city, Go to one police plaza. If you live upstate, check out your locals or the state police. ------------------ | ||

Here in Tennessee I bought a gun a one of the gun shows that we had. I filled out the papers and they ran a check while I waited. And I walked out with the gun!! The first time I filled out the papers |
