HEAD OF UNIVERSITY OF BERKLEY`S MATH DEPARTMENT CAME UP WITH THIS FIGURE REGARDING THE STATISTICAL POSSIBILITY OF BUCHANAN RECIEVING 3400 VOTES IN PALM BEACH COUNTY IN WHAT THE REPUBLICANS CALL A "BUCHANAN STRONGHOLD" 1 IN 1 TRILLION ------------------

Then explain why the reform candidate for House of Representatives got 2900 votes. If you don't believe me go check it out, its a fact. BTW, I wouldn't believe anything a public university says about politics. They are as liberal of the media. Cambridge, Mass., home of Harvard had more Naderites than anywhere else in the country. 14% of the votes. [This message has been edited by d1734 (edited November 11, 2000).]

ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT THE ONE FROM FLORIDA? ------------------

Yeah. It was either Senate or House, it was late at night when I heard it so me memory is not serving me well. If you do some digging you will find it. 2900 came from the exact same county that Buchanon got those votes for President. You might have to check a mainly Republican source for it. If I stumble across it I will post it here, but beleive me SB, I wouldn't pull this out of my ass.

"Did you know that Republican Congressman Mark Foley had a Reform Party opponent in Tuesdays election? Yup sure did! And Foleys Reform Party opponent drew 2,651 votes, just about 1,000 less than Buchanan drew. So --- were the votes for Foleys Reform Party candidate also the votes of confused Floridians?" Now --- some more factoids about this election in Palm Beach County: Buchanans campaign in Palm Beach was most intense, highest staffed in entire State and was headed by a Buchanan relative. Buchanan spent disproportionate share of his money in Palm Beach. In the 1996 presidential election the vote in Palm Beach county showed a corresponding disproportionate share of independent votes and Buchanan with about 2900 votes that year. Thats about the same percentage of the vote total as this year. In the 1996 Republican Primary in Palm Beach County Buchanan got 8000 votes. There ya go big boy. I await your response...

SB, your simply in denial at this point. If you combine all the facts together the Democrats allegations hold no water. On top of this the medias early call of FL demoralized Bush voters across the country, and Bush supporters are considering legal action. Some people think Bush had a chance to win the popular vote if it was not for that. On top of this, Bush will likely close the gap in the popular vote when absentees are counted. The only way to know for sure who won is to recount every vote in every county in the entire nation. Bush still could be the winner in the popular when these factors are considered for all we know. It is time for Gore to back off. Yeah right, the Democrats even confimed what the Republicans claimed in 1996. There claims were "oh, well it was a primary." Oh, and it looks like that election is the general election. Bill Clinton didn't compete against Bob Dole in the Republican primary.... D1734.IT SAYS PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION 2900 VOTES. AND 8000 IN PRIMARY,WHEN THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF A SINGLE VOTE IN THE 1996 ELECTION. ------------------

What are you talking about? Pat Buchanan didn't run in the general election, so he didn't get any votes. It is stupid to dispute the votes Buchanan got in the 96' Republican primary, even the democrats admit to that, they just claim it is not relevent. I've seen them say it on TV like 5 times already.

No, I don't know what I could have done other than call the radio station. I got no reason to doubt what Neal Boortz would say, though. |
