does smoking out of a bong really get you higher? if so, why? i used to have a really neat matrix purple acrylic bong and i loved it for the cool smoke (used to put ice in the water). lately i've just been using an ultra-cool looking brushed steel pipe but i was thinking about getting another bong even though i hate the way those things look. is it worth it? ------------------    | ||

Hell yeah, I think it does get you higher. If you fill that mother fucker up all the way and make it thick and cloudy you can usually burn a whole bole in one rip. I read on the little tag on some of the bongs that smoking out of a bong is the healthiest way to smoke, cuz the water filters out all the carcinagens(sp). I wish I could smoke. I'm stuck in bosnia till march. Smoke a fatty for me all my budsmokers.  | ||

cleaner hits from quality equipment...use a glass tube vs a dirty ol' pipe and you'll see the difference...with bongs, you can cool down the smoke (via ice) to get a bigger hit and keep it in longer..easier on the throat. better than paper IMO. smoke on ss | ||

Yes it does. i had this skull implate once that you laid on the ground and it had 7 tubes coming out of it, 3 on each side and one coming out of the forehead directly above where you unscrewed the piece and put your shit in. that bitch was awesome. if you wanted to get a shot go for the middle one and see if you don't pass out. ------------------ | ||

funny billy, funny. actually - i snorted some heroin once by mistake. it fucked up my nose REALLY good. there were no pulp-fictionesque after effects though, luckily. | ||

i have a theory on why bongs can get you higher. they can shove more smoke into your lungs (via larger airways than a pipe, plus its cooled so you wont cough it up). this should rush more thc into your blood at a time, which should make you get higher than a gradual thc intake, thats just a theory though, but it does make it sound like the thc would hit you ahrder that way. Do a search on "gravity bongs" or just look at how to make one thru the links at Yahooka.com they will burn dat ass up, best device i've used yet. | ||

Sorry I have been taking a coma. Ummm, I personally think a bong is a much cleaner hit providing more smoke, I also am a huge fan of bubblers as well which is basically the same concept usually smaller but in different shapes and sizes. Joints, blunts, gravity bongs and plain old pipes are pretty harsh on the lungs(not that the other methods are great for you), also try ingestion every now and again, eating herb is a totally different experience. peace ------------------ | ||

havoc - when you make brownies do you use the buds or the leaves? i have a book on cooking with pot but it tells you to use the leaf and that you can usually get them from a dealer for really cheap or for free because they are not good for smoking. i've never come across anyone who has leaves, though. when i've done it in the past i've had to use a lot of bud, i think i've used a half oz. how much do you use? | ||

Leaves can be used but I dont recommend it, I use the bud around a 1/8th of high grade for about 10 brownies, I grind it up in a coffee grinder and soak it in butter on low for 30 minutes then use the usual directions on the box. ------------------ | ||

YEAAAAAA Havoc I tried really filling the ting up once. I filled it so good the smoke was soo thick it was almost green. Well I hit it and held it. man I was in a mad coffing fit for two minutes after that. HAHAHAHA wow am I stoned right now. | ||
