I would like to walk into the pro gore protester groups in Florida with an AK-47 and give them one more reason to bitch about gun control. All they are is a bunch of sore losers trying to stir up shit. How can they support a candidate that looks like an alien anyway. Go W!!!!!

Sore losers?

He won the election for chrissakes!

He has more popular votes and obviously there is a major issue in Florida that makes it appear that he should've won that states election too.

Any politician would complain. And if you truly cared about the integrity of our country and our constitution, you'd want the man with the most votes to win- not the person you voted for.

Mr. H,

Unless you want to rewrite the constitution and show your ever greater knowledge than our founding fathers, that won't happen.

I have been watching this sh*t on CNN for the last hour and have come to this conclusion...if you do not take enough time voting to actually LOOK at what hole you are punching--which is at the end of a straight f*ckin' arrow, you do not possess the intelligence to give you the right to vote! If Gore wins this election because these morons get a re-vote, it will be the biggest embarrasment this country has seen in many years--maybe since Vietnam!

Mr. H., I believe the electoral college is one of the wisest things our founding fathers established...it is there for out protection. Unless the Constitution is ratified, the popular vote WILL NOT be the determining factor!

Just my 2 cents, and by the way I voted for Harry Browne and think Gore and Bush are Socialists!

I don't know where that comment came from as I was telling someone that the only way to keep the integrity of the constitution is to let this settle and see who really had more votes.

As for the electoral college- yes it was good for back then. If they still don't trust the common man, why are they even letting us vote?

And obviously people from this generation have MUCH MORE knowledge than any of this countries founding fathers- and we are not as narrow minded as the founding fathers were.

How can you say a man from back then has more knowledge than someone from today? They may appear to be wiser- but that's only because they're historical figures.

One of the reasons the electoral college was made is so that each state has a more equal say in who becomes president. This also keeps candidates from campaigning only in heavy populated area like California. The voice of voters from all areas of the country should be heard equally. The electoral college ensures this. The only reson gore is ahead in the popular vote is because of the California. This is no surprise to me. California is the most regulated state in the country. They have a law for everything and you have to get a permit to wipe your ass there. So of course they voted for gore, they like being told what to do by the government and gore is clearly for big govrenment. He thinks government should run your life for you.

Knowledge yes, wisdom no. I give you the same challenge I gave Agent Shagwell, try to prove that big government works better than small government. They did not just "appear" to be wiser. That is like saying Albert Einstein only "appeared" to be smart. Ya, right.

Oh, and I'm not sure myself that the EC is totally neccessary as I have not studied it enough. But I can say that if they were going to abolish the EC, they should have done it before the election. That way no one can play games after the election for their own benefit. Both candidates said they would campaigned differently if there was no EC before the election.

How do you measure intelligence and knowledge. For their time the founding fathers were very well educated and informed.

And the avg citizen was lucky to be able to know how to read.

Today it is quite different. Yet if you do a comparison of intelligence of today vs then you will find that the avg man overall is smarter, while the current leaders are no more intelligent than 225 years ago.

I believe it should be a popular vote that determines the race, but I also believe in the Constitution and until it is ratified, we must abide by it, period.

If gore pulls off a win in Florida after the recount, there will be all kinds of investigations re-vote, and so on. If bush holds on and wins there will be similar actions. Unless one of the candidates is grown up enough to just say enough is enough, we will have all kinds of problems for a long time and will lose are respect in the eyes of the world.

We will have no credibility when it comes to saying someone has a right to vote in a foreign country. Because obviously we have shown, while it is a right, too many people just don't pay attention, do not read the ballots, and just vote because that is the way I have always done.

Only about 52% of registered voters (or eligible, can't remember) voted this time in the US. Imagine what the outcome would be if we had online voting at a pollbooth and everyone able to voted. That is the shortcoming of the election. No one, not one candidate was strong enough to get the entire country excited about the next president and basically they said fuck it. The current system is broke and it is pointless to vote. Whomever becomes president, my taxes will go up, my freedoms will decrease. So it don't matter any more to me. There is no one that I can believe in anymore.
