Supposedly, the ballots did not go across in a straight line. So it didn't say Gore and then have a whole next to his name- it had holes above and below his name. So these people were taking guesses as to what hole they had to punch. This is the working of Jeb Bush!!     | ||

Those ballots even had arrows next to the candidates name pointing to the right button to push. I dont see how any normal person could screw it up. More bullshit from the Democrats. | ||

It seems as if 19000 ballots are irregular because people were punching holes for Gore and Buchanan. I am not saying that the ballots are extremely confusing but if you are grandpa or grandma, or if you are a bit in a hurry and you don't look at the ballot long enough to grasp it's system you might as well pound in the wrong hole just by accident. This is a non-issue. If you are not intelligent enough to figure out the ballot, you should not be allowed to vote. BTW - a reporter finally got around to looking up the polling results from 1996. Guess what?? Different style ballot and Pat Bucc. got over 3000 votes then as well.

It is to an issue. Browne of the Libertarian party received 300 votes- yet there's only 112 registered libertarians. I doubt anyone really wanted to vote for this guy. If this was the other way and Gore led, you'd all be doing the same thing the Gore supporters are doing. And they showed that ballot on TV last night. It was confusing. You have two sides of a ballot, each pointing into the middle- with a bunch of holes that don't line up to anybody's names sitting in the middle. The reason you claim it was so easy to figure out is because you support Bush. Admit it, you've never seen anything like the ballot they used. And what's with ballots anyways? I pull a damn lever whenever I vote. | ||

Why didn't they just make the ballots with big boxes that you had to write and "X" in right next to the candidate? Then there could be no question. That's what they had for us. Then they could have had the big print and the ability to say, hey..You wrote the "X" in there... That's it. ------------------ Rock On! | ||

I don't give a shit who is elected. I just want to see campaign finance reform passed, whether it be by Bush, Gore, or your pet cat. . It was confusing. d, How can you overlook the fact that most of the voters in Palm Beach are OLD PEOPLE? Do you think they have the same thinking skills as us- or even the same eye sight? Do you really believe those votes were for Buchanan? Hell, he doesn't even believe they were! And as for Libertarian- we're talking about one area in Florida making up for 20% of his total FL votes? Obviously something is wrong. | ||

Mr. H, Obviously we will have to disagree on this point, but isn't it true that the democrats could have complained about the ballots in time for them to be changed? I mean, what's next, specially designed senior ballots with big, bright colors and pictures of the candidates? As for whats wrong, I think it is the old people. If 99.999% of the population can get it right, then if you get it wrong you might not be able to be classifed as human. Seriously! | ||

i agree, this may in fact be the workings of jeb bush, which is unfair, but voters shouls pay attention to what circle is which candidate, cause clearly the arrow points to gore, so they might try opening there eyes. I also think its bullshit that florida had a different ballot than the rest of the U.S., thats why i definetly think Bush is behind it, every state should have the same ballot and there should be one ballot not different ones in different states, thats when shit liek this happens |
