She's been listening and learning and educating herself by taking an intellectual stand on issues. She has been doing this for years, which have earned her more of an education than any of the candidates now possess. Whether you wanna believe it or not it's true.

If you've been a BB for 15 years, don't you believe that you would know more about the sport and profession as apposed to someone that just got a degree and has general knowledge and decides to be your competitor?

What is it that y'all would disagree with more, the fact that she is a woman or because she's black? If truth be told, say it like it is and how you feel with intelligence, not just a smart-ass remark.

What makes you think she would get crushed by the competition? If the adage is true, that there are two girls to every boy, then even half the female population could levy the voting counts.

His staff was as loyal to him as one could get. People were willing to sacrifice their entire careers and freedoms to protect him, I can't say the same about clinton. That alone tells you what kind of person he is. when Col. North did what he did, that is an honor for the president. North was willing to and did take the fall for the President, right or wrong, that is loyalty that is not bought it is earned. Clinton will never enjoy that loyalty and neither will gore, or oprah.

Which countries have been "run into the ground" by women? (and if the country was going down the toilet to begin with...sorry, this arguement can not be used.)

And now please list the countries that have not befallen this same fate based solely on the fact that they were run by men.

Is it a wonder that (and I am guessing here) 80% of the worlds countries still have males as leaders.

I never said a woman couldn't do the job. They just don't have a proven track record yet and the world is not ready for them.

Women tend to act more emotionally than men, they tend to act first then think about what they are doing.

It has also been said that the sun never sets on the British Empire (size implication)....and to my knowledge, England has not once, but twice had outstanding, at best and adequate, at the very least, women leaders. So now, if these statements are correct - what does this say about women's track record?

The fact that there are less women in leadership positions has nothing to do with the world not being "ready for women" and everything to do with the fact that men are physically stronger and ultimately unless she can outwit him (which isn't too difficult if the female has half a brain) she must yield......and even then, a tremendous brain capacity does you little good when you are felled to the ground by one swoop.

Not saying that ALL females are smarter than men - nay, TOO MANY FEMALES ARE DUMBER THAN A DOORNAIL. I do believe, unfortunately, that there are more strong men than there are half-way intelligent females......perhaps this is where the problem lies.

I don't think it is a question of physical strength but more a question of how one reacts to situations and thinks. While a male and a female may come up with the same answer in the end, the way a male and a female go about getting that answer can be very different. There have been smart ones in the past, Madam Curie for one.

I think that is why the world is not ready, the world is not ready for a different approach to a problem to get the same answer.

One country out of how many and for only twice times in the past is not really a track record. It is a start, especially given that it was just one country. Also, during the Queen Elizabeth reign, the peasants still suffered tremendously. I'll find the info and post it.

Can you think of any other women leaders that have improved their country's lot in the world.

I'm not saying that Elizabeth's reign was not without trouble, just that it was considered my most historians to be one that is still unsurpassed by the reign of any other, be it male OR female, in prosperity and wealth. (I have yet to hear of a country where some segment of the population was not on "the bottom" so to speak.)

And what of the egyptian queen Nefretiri (I believe it was her)? She actually wore the garbs of the Pharoahs, false beard and all. Even thousands of years ago, she understood that a queen was weak when compared to a Pharoah (singularly gender difference here) regardless of how great and wise a ruler she was or could have been.

I'm not pro/anti NRA or gun control or any of that, but didn't an English Brotha site a statistic that the Enlish have far less gun-related violence than the US - BECAUSE of this here on the chat board at elite not too long ago? I know I'm going to flack for this, but if the English brotha himself said that this was a good thing, then.......

And wasn't it Queen Isabella of Spain who backed Chris Columbus on his "insane quest to prove that the world was not flat?" Now this may have been a good or a bad thing based on whether you are a south american indian or a europian.

Ghandi in general has caused lots of problems in India. And Mandella's wife has caused a lot of strife in her country.

At least I and some others here are not afraid to post our opinions and thoughts on subjects. And are not afraid to take criticism. And do not resort to childish acts.

I must say that this discussion has been VERY helpful to me. My 8 yr old daughter has to read a biography and write a report (or do some type of project) for school. We've been discussing for a couple of days now who she should pick to do the assignment about. I was quite dismayed when the only person she could think of to read about (in other words found interesting) were people like Britney Spears (her CD's are not allowed in my house, nor are my girls allowed to listen - lyrics are much too sexually explicit for my kids) and Insync, etc. Well because of the debate this thread has sparked...I have remember SO MANY GRAND female leaders, that I'm actually excited about helping her w/the project so that I can rediscover these amazingly strong leaders from the past.

Sorry if I sound female chauvenist here, but you guys will concede that because I have female children it is important that I try to show them that they CAN BE anything they want to be......it may be difficult, damned near impossible, but if I take hope away from them - what do they have left?
