Cancel the surgery immediately. You want to try this first: 1. Correction of a deviated septum -- if you have this. 2. Somnoplasty, is an office-based procedure performed using local anesthesia to treat upper-airway obstructions. Somnoplasty uses controlled, low-power radiofrequency energy to create one or several submucosal volumetric lesions. Over a period of 6 to 8 weeks, the lesions are naturally resorbed, reducing tissue volume and stiffening remaining tissue in the desired area. Apnea can be fatal if untreated. I have a friend going IN TODAY to have this surgery. He has a slight overbite and therefore the route of deviate septum is not going to help, not is it the cause. I once dated someone who had this problem and I can tell you, when you are with someone and they stop breathing during the night, it scares the shit out of you. | ||

quote: It is not known if it is more or less effective because it is pretty new. It is known that it helps, as it reduces the size of the soft palate. I imagine your soft palate hangs down too far. In any case, if you begin with somnoplasty, then if you still need the UPPP, it will be much easier becuaes you will have less soft palate. And, somnoplasty is a cake walk, you are awake, and it takes about 20 minutes. I also advise against having the nose work and throat work at the same time. You will have a very hard time breathing. Lastly, remember if the doc removes too much soft palate during the UPPP, you can have big problems with your ability to swallow. ------------------ George George Spellwin Tell your friends about elitefitness.com!
