Im scheduled to have it the 28th its for a breathing problem I have when I sleep.If anyone here has or is close to anyone who has had this procedure aome positive or negative feedback would be greatly appreciated.     | ||

I've had this problem, My father also had it. He had the operation about two years ago, he said it hurt like hell. I haven't had the problem since I lost some weight. | ||

They must have come up with the proceedure George mentioned recently, I'm sure it was not available when my dad had his done. Yes, he sleeps much better now. | ||

Apnea can be fatal if untreated. I have a friend going IN TODAY to have this surgery. He has a slight overbite and therefore the route of deviate septum is not going to help, not is it the cause. I once dated someone who had this problem and I can tell you, when you are with someone and they stop breathing during the night, it scares the shit out of you. | ||

In any case, if you begin with somnoplasty, then if you still need the UPPP, it will be much easier becuaes you will have less soft palate. And, somnoplasty is a cake walk, you are awake, and it takes about 20 minutes. I also advise against having the nose work and throat work at the same time. You will have a very hard time breathing.
