What up? I could use some advice, I am in the military and I consider myself a bodybuilder...I mean I am hooked!! I have been lifting for about 3yrs and went from 170lbs to 218lbs. I think I could easily take my genetics to a new level except the military holds me back. The more weight I gain the harder it is for me to run. I want to say f*ck the military and it's physical standards but I still have 3yrs left on my contract, I am also married to a women who is totally against me gaining weight, although I continue to do so...she shows no support what so ever. If you had a dream..but you were surrounded by these negative things what would you do? Another thing, it's a huge risk to do steroids in the military but I would like to give a cycle a try, would you risk it? I am 5'10" 218lbs and 26yrs old, I would like to weigh in at about 270lbs.

Wait till your out of the military for the steroid thing. Do you want to be a cop or something like that? If so don't do 'em till your hired.

Big deal if she don't want you to get big. Do what makes you happy. When all the girls start eying you she'll get jealous and hang on and appreciate you more, if not dump that ho.

You can sauce if you want to in the Army, however if your CO is a prick he can have you tested specifically for juice if he feels like it.
Also try and pass a tape at 270# good luck! The Armys wants a bunch of skinny weak fuckers I spent my five years building natural mass but was always on the overweight program even with nice abbs!!!
What a bunch of SHIT!
Yeah and those long runs are shit loads of fun when you are heavy arent they! I feel your pain BRO!!!!

It's a huge risk? Really? I know tons of Marines who were on (myself included), and they never got caught. I know of only one guy who got caught, and only because he had it in locker on ship.

You're on your own with the female.

I'm in the Navy and I don't understand your problem. I've been overweight by Navy standards since the early 80's. You just have to go thru the hassle of being measured for bodyfat and I'm assuming your bodyfat max is 22% so you should be able stay within limits. The only hard part will be the run with the extra weight (may be hard on the knees)but run a couple of times a week and you should meet your time limits.

Wow, LivinLarger hit the nail right on the head. The running sucks! I run my 3 miles in about 23 minutes, so, if my CO decides to run it in 21 minutes I am hurting. Everybody keeps telling me that the Corps doesn't want big bodybuilders. If I were to juice I wouldn't even know how to get it, I'm too worried about getting busted. I might have to do the same, just build as much natural muscle as I can until I get out. But by then I'll be 29! I don't want to end up like the rest of these freaks in the gym on base...no legs! I hate it, they look like idiots, my legs are big and thats what slows me down. Why can't they just help me with my talent, give me a job in the gym for the next 3yrs until I get out? Wishful thinking.

jaguars, sorry to say but the navy standards and the marinr standards are two different animals...that's obvious by looking at it's members. The bodyfat % may be 22% for navy but it's 18% for the Marine Corps. I don't mean to offend you or anybody elsr but I have seen some incredibly fat individuals walking around in those squid uniforms...but thank you for the advice jaguars...semper fi.

You signed a contract to defend your country. First let me thank you for doing that. Part of that is doing what someone else wants you to and they make the rules.I dont know what the punishment is for that but you dont want anything bad on your discharge if you get caught. You might not get caught. You have to make the choice. Its really not that much time. I was thinking back and I have been out for 13 years now. Time flies. It has to do with more than getting caught. It can affect your civilian life also if you gey a job where they want to look at your DD-214. Good luck in your decision.

SLABS: sorry, saw that you're from S.D. and assumed you were in the Navy. No argument from me regarding the Navy's B/F standards or the looks from some of our sailors. It is sad! I've know a few Marines who have juiced and were huge, this was years ago, and were only required to get weight waivers (they were within B/F standards). Has this changed?

The only way the Marines can test for steriods, is if they suspect you. In other words, don't get too big too quick. Have creatine and shit like that in your office. Just make sure u run 3x per week, and you'll be fine. A 23 minute 3-mile isn't that good to begin with. What's your bf % now? To make sure u stay under bf, all u really have to do is have a big neck. They measure your neck and waist.

------------------
There is someone out there who is bigger and stronger than u, so....get your ass in the gym!!!!!!!!

The Marines have a standard of appearence. If you look good in the uniform then the bodyfat can be waved.

Hell according to the standards I was at 15% and my actual bodyfat was less than 8%. You can't win with the measurement.

23 minutes is not that bad, if you can score 20 pullups and 80 situps, then a 25 minute 3-miler still gets you first class. Not as many points on the score, but nonetheless it is still first class.

Actually Jaguars, it has changed. They no longer give out weight waivers. If you exceed your max weight for your height then you must be under 18% bf. It also depends on your CO. If he is totally against you being heavy, or he doesn't like your PFT score he will put you on remedial PT.

Let me just say that I am an Infantry Marine. Right now I am working for a commanding general, do you think now would be a good time to try my first cycle?
