I don't vote by party. I vote on the issues. It does, however, mean that the Republican platform comes closest to my own convictions on abortion, the death penalty, "Affirmative Action," and 2nd Amendment issues. ------------------ | ||

There is actually a very good reason why people vote based on party affiliation. It is because the basic beliefs of that particular party are bigger than the individual. To be quite honest with you, voting for the "best guy","nicest guy",or whatever is an even worse way to vote. I know there are some very nice democrats out there, but given that I know what their political ideology stands for, I would never vote for them. Just because someone is an upstanding person, doesn't mean I want them taxing the shit out of me, telling me what I can and can't do, or blocking my opportunities for success. ------------------ - Kwai-Chang Caine |
