if you don't know, he is the Libertarian candidate for president. the more i read about him the more i like him. previously i said my vote would go to Ralph Nader, but after reading more about Browne i've changed my mind. no matter what party you support, you owe it to yourself to at least learn about what Harry Browne stands for. check out http://www.issues2000.org/Harry_Browne.htm don't waste a vote for the Republicrats or the Demicans. if people would vote their conscious the other parties could get into the debates and then anything can happen. check it out, you might be surprised.     | ||

If I were to vote purely on principle, I'd vote Browne. But I'd sure kick myself in teh ass for four years if Gore won because Browne took votes from Bush. Then I'll be really pissed at Frackal when Gore has us all turn in our private firearms. ------------------ | ||

Him and Ralph Nader are polar opposites. How can you change so drastically. If there are any candidates that are different, they are these 2. As a general rule of thumb, Nader is for a bigger govt. while Browne is for little govt. as possible. A good analogy for what you are saying is someone likes women and then decides to like men.

yes i know, but i liked Nader's stance on the drug issue and another reasoning for voting for Nader is that he is very close to getting 5% of the vote which is important. anything to get out of this 2 party system is a worthy cause, IMO. | ||

I am with d1734 on this point. We have all been screwed by the two party system and it is now time to shake it up in the next election (if there is one) and get some other parties elected and see what they do. Democrates and Republicans are too much alike in some areas. And yes, the war on | ||

I am a Bush supporter, but I do agree with you that the two party system has gelled into essentially a single party. I like Nader becuase he is his own man, he thinks what he says, and that is to be commended. But he has absolutley no politcal expierence...none what so ever. So basically his advisors would be running the show until he got his feet wet. If either gore or bush had no expierence they would lack votes, just as nader does. A | ||

sharps, i have to disagree. the media would brainwash the public into thinking they have only 2 choices no matter who were the republican or democratic nominees. personally, i think jesse ventura would have had a legitimate shot to win the election if he got in from the start. he has shown he can win major elections and is a refreshing change from Bush and Gore. if the economy goes down hill, Ventura is a fool for not running next election, IMO. he would have an excellent chance to win. | ||

A LIbertarian victory won't happen this soon. Vote Libertarian at teh local level, Judges, SHerriffs, Senators, Governors, etc. In the meantime, at the national level, do everything you can to keep Government small. The Republicans are your friends until the Libertarians are actually able to win a National election. ------------------ | ||

D1734- I agree with you about the media. They are a bunch of manipulators who twist the truth, for their (the owners of the media companies) agenda. In the american politcal system we do lack variety. I would be very infavor of getting a another party into the mix. But try convincing that to mainstream America. They problem with this country is there are too many sheep. They do what everyone else is doing, I wonder if they every even think on their own or just recite what they have learned in school or seen on tv. | ||

weapon X: you do have a point, but personally i would have to vote my conscious. i can understand where you are coming from though, because Gore is an abomination that could do serious harm to the entire country. i think the real revolution will happen when the internet generation are the primary voters. if it wasn't for the internet i'd still be a republican. when the current elderly generation pass on, thats when i predict the revolution will happen (they are simply out of touch and want their medicine and free stuff). the internet makes it much harder to hide the truth compared to other popular forms of media. | ||
