who thinks this guy is a digrace to football? i mean sure, he might have his moments, but the damn guy won't shut up. and he says the stupidest things. i know this isn't realted to A/S but damn i get pissed watching monday night football. i have to put the game on mute. who else thinks this knuckle head has to hit the road?     | ||

I think he has to go. Jimmy Kimbel on Fox NFL Sunday was making fun of him in week 1. Miller must go seriously. I don't wanna hear his dumbass remarks, nor does anyone else. Probably not even the 2 guys sitting next to him. I miss the trio of Frank, Al, and Dan. Did anyone just see that interception return by Ten? ------------------ | ||

The remark that Howard Stern was reacting to was regarding the Plantagenet family of England, of which Richard the Lionhearted was a member of. Funnily, Stern couldn't even pronounce Plantagenet, let alone know who they were...goes to show that Stern isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. I think it's pathetic how little Americans KNOW. I refuse to comment on their intellect, becuase Miller is American and he is very bright...occasionally misguided, but much more intelligent than any of the boneheads who have anything to do with football or any other sport. Doesn't surprise me that the average person doesn't "get" Miller...one sentence of his equals the entire vocabualary of the average North American. You're right, he doesn't belong in football..his audience is by and large intelligent people, of which football does not attract. [This message has been edited by kat (edited October 31, 2000).] | ||

Ahem...I do believe I said I refused to comment on the intellect of Americans becuase Dennis Miller IS American and is very bright. There are alot of bright Americans, however, I have not met too many exceedingly bright people who sit in front of the television watching sports day in and day out. Ahem...I also believe the word NORTH Americans was used as well. That INCLUDES Canadians. | ||

Ahhh, but you did comment on the intellect of Americans by saying "I think it's pathetic how little Americans KNOW" � Now you can argue semantics, but I think that intellect is directly related to knowledge, wouldn't you agree? Hence the American-bashing comment. You also said " Sports were created for men who are too dumb to do anything else" and "his audience is by and large intelligent people, of which football does not attract." These are generalizations, absolute statements, which I think that you would acknowledge are blown out of proportion in order to make your point. Surely you don't truly believe this is true of all sports and football fans? Yeah, so you used the word NORTH, as in NORTH American. So what? You were commenting on America in your post, not Canada. NORTH America INCLUDES America � and since this was the topic of your post it was logical to assume, in this context, that you were still speaking of America. From your second post, I understand what you REALLY meant better. I'm not trying to bait you, I just want to know you better. My comment was in response to my feeling of being attacked for being an American and a sports fan, and an attempt to get you to open up a little � to see if you really meant the words as you wrote them.
