with that your not gonna train...she's sick  ...but when she's better jsut stick to a scheduel...same time place etc....good luck with the potty training...do you say "go potty" when you take her out? | ||

ya shags... i do... i also say no bit 400 times a day. i know the basics, trained a few others, but for some reason i feel this is going slower then it should... maybe cuz the last 2 were not biters, the other dobe was though... its a breed thing i think... i was so mad last night, and i know its my fault, but i was still mad at her. didnt even want to be near the mutt. i take her out at 7am, 12pm, 5pm, 7pm, 9pm, 1045pm.... and usually around 3 or 4 am... | ||

what kind is it? I bought a Chinese Sharpei, it took 1 week to house break him. Sharpei's have a reputation for training easily though. It depends on what kind it is also. | ||

dobbie's have a lot of energy and can be stubborn...ive had 5 in my life...they all seem to just one day get better, all at once...keep it up, it will happen.. the worst dog ive had (worst in terms of training)a beagle...those things are crazy stubborn... | ||

specialbill makes a good point...my pitt puppy has tons of enregy....I take her running every morning with me about 5-6 miles...exercising them properly will help with everything....then again the little chica lays like a log hyper ventalation for like 5 minutes when we get home, then she's running into walls and wants to play....she tore up a section of my carpet yesterday when I ddin't put her in her crate.....puppies....aren't they cute | ||

dobes rank 5th in overall intelligence... she learned sit prior to being 6 weeks old. she was purchased very very young. she knows down now as well, and is a fresh 9 weeks old... she just became a dobe with the energy the last 2 weeks, probably cuz she was sick prior. my other dobe had the same problems, and one day like was said before, she stopped.. she was wonderful, and the park sure as hell helped keep her "normal"... i let her run and run, then she was a normal dog for the rest of the day. i am working on getting my schedule more solid. she is pretty good on the weekend when i am home all the time.. during the week she poops once on the carpet... i dont crate her during the day cuz i do at night, and leaving a dog crated for 12 hours at a time is shit. this dog is not training me, she is learning the commands, but the housebreaking set back sucked.. face it, 2 weeks with no control over her shit whatsoever... that may have cost me another month of training... lady at the vets office said "there goes her training for a while". cuz it was just like piss out of her ass... nasty... to the dobe owner... how big were yours at 6 weeks (8lbs) 7 weeks (11lbs) and 10 weeks??? ( gotta guess over 20 already, and its a female!!!) she will be 10 weeks wednesday... she is quite large for a girl. | ||

I wanna get me a german shep puppy really bad, but we already got a dog, little maltese, that we never wanted. We kinda got stuck with it. (It was my aunts, she left it when she moved out of my grandmoms, my dad moved in there after my rents divorce, my dad got stuck w/ it after my grandmom died, and my step mom loves it so we kept it) Anyways the dog is old as only God knows, shit I don't think he knows. All she can do is walk in clockwise circles cause one of her hips is messed up and she can't control her bladder anymore. It kills them to watch the dog in pain, but they ain't got the heart to put her to sleep. I've actually watched that dog pretty much deteriorate into nothin over the past couple months. She got real skinny, has a blueish pruplish tint to her and is real bony now. I wanna get me a dog that I can rough house with and will scare people I don't like. Not some dog that is smaller than my cat and less active. Have him trained like a police k-9 and then when he gets older let him get a little bitch (correct term) to fuck (incorrect term). Anyone know what rank German sheppards fall into on the intelligence level? I seen someone say dobes landed at 5th. Just curious. ------------------ | ||

I have two labs, took about a month with each one for the housebreaking, chewing shit up took a couple of years...But its funny they only chewed my ex's shit up! ------------------ |
