I was also diagnosed with Crohn's my senior year of high school during football season. I weighed about 165 at the time and I was constantly losing weight and mass. I would wake up at night vomiting and it was hard to eat without a really bad stomach ache. I had some tests done-- barium enema, colonoscopy, etc... It finally got extremely bad enough until around Thanksgiving I needed to have the operation. They removed 9 inches of my intestine. I was in the hospital for 9 days and dropped down to 135. I'm a soph in college now and since then everything has been good for me. I haven't had any problems since and now I am running track at a D1 school and my lifts are great again. I have talked to some doctors on Crohn's and AS, so you can e-mail me if you want. Wish your cousin good luck. | ||
