Lost Treasure
Bandits buried $40,000 in newly minted twenty dollar gold coins in 1874.
They buried the coins in a dry well in the Pale Duro Canyon which is in
the Pale Duro State Park, eight miles northeast of Wayside.

Gem Location
In the county of Armstrong the gem hunter can find petrified wood near
the town of Canyon which is off of US 87.

Brazos County:

Gem Locations
In the county of Brazos and near the city of La Grange the gem hunter
can look for palm wood in about five different sites. If it is a ranchland,
get permission first.

Coke County:

Gem Location
In the county of Coke the gem to look for is topaz, most of the sites that
you will find in this county will be "pay to dig" sites.

Dallas County:

Lost Treasure
In 1878 the famous Texas outlaw gang known as the Sam Bass gang were
gunned down, but throughout the years of there robberies they stole over
three million dollars in silver and gold. The gang buried there loot in
eighteen different places throughout the state of Texas. In the county of
Dallas they hid some of it in an abandoned Spanish mine by Chalk Hill.

Fayette County:

Fort
Fort Moore is located off of State 77 just south of La Grange at Monument
Hill. This fort was established in 1828 and after the Civil War ended, the
fort was abandoned.

Goliad County

Battlefield
Off of US183, two miles south of Goliad is where you will find Presidio
Nuestra Senora de Loreto de la Bahia. This was a Spanish frontier
founded in 1749 to protect the nearby missions. There were two battles
that were fought here. One was the Hidalgo Revolt of 1812, better known
as the fight for Mexican independence and the other battle fought here was
the Texas Revolution in 1835 in which the Americans won.

Harris County:

Battlefield
On San Jacinto Battlefield, Sam Houston led the Americans .o their
independence from Mexico on April 21, 1836 by winning the battle.
Located off of State 223, twenty one miles east of Houston.

Jeff Davis County:

Lost Treasure
The outlaw gang known as the Red Curley gang buried twenty five mule
loads full of silver and gold bars that they robbed from a raid they did in
Monterey, Mexico. The loot is in an abandoned mine shaft three miles
west of Fort Davis near Barrel Springs in the Davis Mountains.

Live Oak County:

Lost Treasure
A pouch containing twelve thousand dollars in gold coins is buried on a
hill between the Coma and Tigre Ranches in the Nueces Flats which are
five miles south of Olmos off of US 37. An outlaw buried the loot here.

Runnels County:

Gem Location
In the county of Runnels the gem to look for is topaz. There are a few
different sites to find topaz in the county of Runnels although they are
"pay to dig" sites, meaning permission is required first and also a possible
fee will have to be paid.

Barry County:

Gem Location
In the county the gem hunter may find blue chert near the city of Powell
which is off of US 71.

Camden County:
Gem Location
In the county of Camden the gem hunter can look for "morzarite" at a
"pay to dig" near the town of Hermitage.

Douglas County:
Lost Treasure
There is a lost mine and a buried treasure in or near the town of Ava in
Douglas county. The treasure and mine are of gold ore; more in depth
research would need to be done in order to better pin point the location.

Franklin County:

Lost Treasure
At Meremac State Park there is believed to be a buried treasure worth ten
million dollars . Further investigation would need to be done.in order to
get more exact information and location on this treasure.

Greene County:
Lost Treasure
At a spot called Noble Hill, which is twelve miles north of Springfield,
there is a very large treasure that the Confederates buried there during the
Civil War. The treasure is of unknown content.

Howard County:
Lost Treasure - There is a large pouch of gold known as the "Kaffer Treasure" that is
buried in the area of Armstrong in the county of Howard.

Jasner County:
Lost Treasure Cole Younger, the outlaw buried a large chest of gold coins and silver
coins by the town of Alba which is around seven miles west of State 71.

Gem Location
At "pay to dig" sites ( permission is needed, plus a possible charge to dig
at these sites) in the county of Jasper the gem hunter may �find marcasite,
sphalerite, pyrite, smithsonite, calcite, galena and dolomite. There are at
least four of these sites near the city of Joplin.

Lawrence County:

Gem Location
In the county of Lawrence near the city of Granby the gem hunter can find
crystal specimens of sphalerite, galena, pyrite, smithsonite, calcite, and
marcasite.

McDonald County:
Lost Treasure
Seventy five thousand dollars in silver and gold coins known as the Ford
Meadow Treasure is buried somewhere in Ford Meadow by the city of
Bethpage.

Moniteau County:
Gem Location
In the county of Moniteau the gem hunter will find barite near the town of
Stover and Mozarkite near the town of Lincoln.

Nodaway County:
Lost Treasure
A doctor by the name of Lynn Talbot buried a full keg of American gold
coins on his property somewhere during the Civil War. His house which
is called the "House of the Seven Gables" is located three miles north of
Barnaad.

Polk County:
Gem Location
In the county of Polk, the gems that can be found are agate, chert and
petrified wood. These can be found near the town of Greenfield at "pay
to dig" sites.

Stoddard County:
Lost Treasure

There is a treasure of unknown value and content in the town of
Bloomfield inside of a chimney. This one will definitely need to be
further researched in order to pinpoint the exact chimney

Wright County:
Lost Treasure
There is a treasure with the value of six hundred thousand dollars. Its
content is of gold coins and is hidden in a cave by the Norfolk River near
the town of Hartville. The treasure is known as the "Spanish Cave
Treasure".

Get this last year at a flea market in Philadelphia County some guy bought a painting for 50 cents to get the frame. Found out it was an original copy of the constitution...sold at auction for over 11 million bucks!
