CAPE TOWN, South Africa (AP) -- A pro-Palestinian mob outraged by the violence in the Middle East hurled bricks through the windows of a McDonald's restaurant Saturday, forcing customers to take cover under the tables.

Two employees were cut by flying glass and a third was treated for shock, said Dr. Wayne Smith, head of Cape Metro Rescue Services.

The mob of about 150 people also stoned 10 cars, police spokesman Andre Traut said. The attackers, who had covered their faces with scarves, dispersed when police and guards from private security company arrived. There had been no arrests by Saturday evening, Traut said.

The McDonald's attack followed a peaceful rally protesting Israel's actions against the Palestinians attended by about 2,000 Muslims. At the end of the rally, a group gathered outside the stadium, burnt Israeli and U.S. flags and then marched to the McDonald's, stoning cars en route.
