Did any of you watch the polls. Bush won by at least 4% in the ABC, NBC, and CBS NUETRAL polls. Maybe gore won a poll among democrats or in the eyes of his VP, but on the general analysis last night they said Bush won.

Now it is only 6:20 AM out here and I will go read the paper after I run a few miles and I will report back according to the NYT, WSJ and San Fran Chronicle.

As an independant voter, I think Bush won hands down. Although Gore got in the last shot at the end when Bush could not explain why most of the tax cuts go to the rich-

I believe that most of the tax laws were written by a democratic office. You figure?

I mean what is it about taking from the rich and successful and giving to the poor and don't give a shit class?

I pay 25-30% in federal taxes alone out of each paycheck. Now the millionaires and such pay upwards of 50%. Shit if I made 10 million dollars and had no breaks I would get about 5 million net. We continually get punished for being successful. Our whole tax system is a joke.

A better question to both of them would be, Why does the IRS need armed agents with the powers of arrest? Debter's prison anyone? Gee, isn't that supposed to be unconstitutional?

I think Bush explained earlier in the debate why the rich got most of the tax cuts. The Americans in the top 1% of the income ladder will end up paying around 1/3 of the total amount of tax money in the next few years. Why shouldn't they get more breaks? It's the poor who should have no tax breaks... damn Gore...

Actually I think it's more than 33% for the top 1%. Anyhow, when you give folks a break, those shouldering the greatest burden will see a greater break in dollar amounts. However, the proposed tax breaks by Bush give a greater percentage of a break to lower and middle income earners. In other words, it makes a bigger difference to them than it does to the "rich."
Plus, how many times does he have to say this: When his cuts are implemented, the income taxes from the "rich" will make up a larger percentage of the whole than they do now. Simple math folks which, of course, can not be used to describe the convoluted tax cuts proposed by Gore (which nobody in their right mind expects to see implemented anyway...where's those tax cuts promised in 1992?).

The difference between involved and committed can best be explained using a bacon and egg breakfast as an example: The chicken is involved but the pig is committed.

Let's remember what's being called "rich" these days: anyone making over 40k/year, believe it or not.
I don't feel anywhere close to being rich.

Bush kicked ass. All Gore could manage to stutter was "I agree" whenever Bush made a good point and Gore had to kiss ass. All this stuff Gore is saying about tax cuts makes me want to puke....of course most of the cuts (in terms of dollars) are going to the rich, when they pay the overwhelming majority of the taxes. Yet the poor get a larger percentage in reduction (under the Bush plan), the problem is that they don't pay shit in the first place, so it makes almost no difference to the bottom line. I'm getting a pain above my eye just thinking about it......

The fact is by the time our kids are adults, they will be paying 50% in tax like the Canadians. And we won't even have socialist health care.

I wonder how long before an armed revolution occurs to correct these errors? Hmmmmm?
