I dont' know if I can post these, but they are gruesome. It was a hang gliding accident and the lady (a he/she) fell from 500 feet, hit the ground at about 120 mph (free fall, no air resistance accounted for) in a head dive. Her body popped like a pimple, her head exploded like a water melon and her right arm was completely ripped off her body. Her upper pallet I almost stepped on was about 10 feet from the body. There were parts of her sprayed on shit, haybails and such over 50 yards away in all directions.

She was in a powered hang glider and was held to the wings by one bolt. It tore through the support tube and away she went. Funny in that the bolt in question was called the Jesus bolt. Now I don't know about you all, but being a stress engineer and seeing only one load path and a weak one at that, coupled with the name of the bolt, I would not get on that thing if you paid me a trillion bucks! Yeah, I may be sick, but if your not you can't handle the job. People sometimes mistake a cops or firemans humor for being sick, but we have to be able to turn off our feelings to do our job. The joking and such is a way of dealing with the job so you don't break down and off yourself. Remember, we deal with the worst society has to offer on a daily basis. And one thing I have noticed is society's appetite for gore. They want to see who got mangled in an accident, who got shot or stabbed, I have seen so many of those and an autopsy, that I am pretty immune to it. Except for kids and baby's, I wouldn't be able to deal with that so well. Ok Wodin, I won't send you a copy. | ||
