I don't wear a belt. They seem to get in my way or something. If I try to wear one I'll spend half my time screwing with it and won't get my squats done. Of course I wear a belt with my jeans and trousers haha. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

I squat 585 for 10 reps and can go over 700 pounds. But I don't use a belt except for the really heavy stuff - one or two reps - belts restrict my breathing and actually over time can weaken your back becasue you become dependent on them. Matt ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

I dont use a belt when squatting- I think your back will get weaker if a belt is used all the time. Also wearing a belt seems to give me problems with my stomach, cos it has to be resonably tight and when I tense as I squat my gut is squeezed and I get pain in it the next day. mr muscle don't worry how much you squat bro. go progressive if you want to up your'e lb or kg.
