I've just started a new bulking cycle (not A/S, this is natural bulking, i just call it that) for about 3 weeks and a half... the two fist weeks went great i gained a solid two pounds on each. But i noticed that i was losing intensity and motivation in the gym by the beggining of the 3rd one and i went throught the whole week getting shitty workouts... my diet suffered too... and when i got on the scale today, i was missing one pound!!! so i said FUCK THIS, so i'm taking the rest of the week off to regain stenght and motivation... now if i want to stay on track for the goal i set myself i'll have to work twice as hard... all i want from my elite brothers is a little push in the back! what do you guys do when you start feeling this way? what are some of the motivation techniques you use? Should I consider just dropping this goal? Dude, you and I are in a similar position, I think. I just started a natural bulking phase last week, and I have put on two pounds. I am stuffing myself to bursting every day, and sometimes my energy lags from digesting all this food. Also getting bummed by my expanding belly. BUt remember that a weight variance of a pound or two can just as easily be water, or bowel movements etc. It's natural to fluctuate by that much periodically. Look at pictures of your smaller self, and look in the mirror. Think about filling up your shirts alot more. Hang in there. The gains show as you look at them over teh course of a month or two. Week to week may not be impressive. And keep pushing the iron! | ||

Silvio, Here is how I deal. I set a goal, and I initially notice that I am all jazzed up to hit it because it s a personal test of desire. EVERYONE will at somepoint on the road come to where you are now! What you need to do is re-evaluate your desired end result and either lower it or bump it up some. In the past two years I have made some great gains on my lifts just because I would say to myself. Things like.. I thought I was going to far..I just haven't gone far enough. Shit like that! It helps your mind adjust to the outcome you are looking for! ------------------ | ||

I've gone from about 120 - 155-160 now since spring, so around six months give or take some... I'm 19, so i have the youth advantage, but it wasn't all muscle that went on either. either way you can lose the chub later. | ||

as long as yu dont have toothpaste on your back. HAHAHAHA!!!! (anyone get that) What I do is take up a personal grudge against someone at the gym I dont know. I dont tell them or anything. I just make it my mission to lift heavier and harder than them, and scowl at anything they do... oh, and criticize them in my head anytime I see them. ------------------ | ||

Usually I open a mag or video and say ... "I WANT TO LOOK LIKE THAT!" I want big arms, I want a six pack, I want tree trunk thighs. I even pasted a little picture of some fool with nice abs on the crunch machine at the private gym I work at sometimes.. when you want to stop because the abs are burning, I just look at that and try to go another 10 reps! | ||

I like to lift when there are some bigger guys in there. Makes want to move more weight on my lifts and let them know that they arnt all that strong as my 185lb ass. ------------------ | ||
