Don't be a moron and try to speak for most people. Yopu don't know what others have gone through and honestly you shouldn't care. Speak for yourself only - otherwise your words don't mean anything.

I came from one of those faimlies that played sports on the weekend and had the whole fried chicken meals on sundays, but my old man did to me like his dad did to him...as I got older the meaner he got cause discipline is what makes a boy into a man "that line of thinking"...well His line of shit didn't work to well for me...I love my dad and all but his inability to talk and resolve issues is why my parents are splitt up so he can have time to get his shit back together...

We had a few bad arguments and the day he told my sister and I he was leaving to look for an apt I just walked back outside to finish the yard work, and put a hole in the side of the garage. Then knocked him out when he came out yelling at me and got ready to shove me....My dad was just someone that just didn't have things like that happen to him.

My father and I got into some confrontations and until that time I had never taken a swing at him....And you know what, it felt pretty damn good, better then good really...And my dad respects me alot more because I finally stood up to him when it was finally time to...Also I told him that I was tired of making the efforts to talk about our problems and that his issues were things he was going to have to talk about...And now we talk...I feel closer to my dad for finally making him understand the only way he knew, by showing him that I wasn't his child anymore but youngman that was going to give him respect, admiration, and love but he was going to have to start respecting me right back for who I was...

Sorry for the rant but I felt a real soft spot reading this and felt like telling my story as it is very fresh on my mind and being delt with day to day....

Taking your anger out on your dad doesn't mean it's going to workout the way you want it. I got lucky cause my dad was finally ready to REALLy listen.

My suggestion is for you to figure out if your dad is worth working to save any kind of relationship. 2-Get him in a surounding where the 2 of you can talk about things, let him know that it's bothered you what he's done and the way he acts to you and the faimly. 3-Listen to what he says and see if you can understand why he feels or does what he does. 4-If he blows you off then either put the issues asside and move on with your life or tell him that 1 day he will not have you around for him to treat like shit and that you would rather have him around as your dad and to act like your dad and not some bully.

Don't get me wrong, but I could have beaten my dad years ago over something he should have not done. My mom was in a fight with him and they had been divorce for years. I did not need roids to get there. So learn to handle it or face the consequences.
