"On every question of construction [of the Constitution], let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed." --Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Johnson, June 12, 1823, The Complete Jefferson, p. 322. "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them." "The spirit of this country is totally adverse to a large military force." "That the Constitution shall never be construed to authorize Congress to infringe the just liberty of the press or the rights of conscience; or to prevent "the people" of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms..." "Arms in the hands of citizens [may] be used at individual discretion...in private self-defense..." "The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference -- they deserve a place of honor with all that is good." "A free people ought...to be armed..." "...to disarm the people is the best and most effective way to enslave them..." "The great object is that every man be armed. Everyone who is able may have a gun." "What, Sir, is the use of a militia? It is to prevent the establishment of a standing army, the bane of liberty...Whenever governments mean to invade the rights and liberties of the people theey always attempt to destroy the militia, in order to raise an army upon their ruins." "This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or their revolutionary right to dismember it or overthrow it." "Liberals, it has been said, are generous with other peoples' money, except when it comes to questions of national survival when they prefer to be generous with other peoples' freedom and security." "Among the many misdeeds of British rule in India, history will look upon the act of depriving a whole nation of arms, as the blackest." -----------------------------
"The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subject races to possess arms. History shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by doing so" [This message has been edited by Weapon X (edited September 28, 2000).] ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thanks for clearing that up, and for citing your source. I replaced it with another Hitler quote. http://www.jpfo.org/GCA_68.htm [This message has been edited by Weapon X (edited September 28, 2000).] ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

My wifes father was a young (13) lad in Germany in 1934. His father was a police Captain and received an edict from the Nazi party that all privately owned firearms were to be confiscated. The reasoning? if all firearms were taken, then safety for all the public would be assured. Does anyone think that to be true? ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

One of my professors in college grew up during the nazi rule in germany. He said life was not very pretty over there. One thing to be pointed out is that the original crime control act of 1969, was almost a word for word quote of Nazi doctrine printed in 1933 concerning the rights of citizens, guns and crimes. I don't have the source with me, it was printed in the Natianal Rifleman some years ago. It is packed right now. But they gave names and source information to verify it on our own. Also, it was the drafting author of the act had the nazi act translated directly from german to english. Hmmmm, makes one think. What really amazes me and pisses me off is the total stupidity of the people of this country. The accept a president who gets banged in office, committing adultery, oh wait a minute, he didn't really have sex because he didn't put his thingy in her love box, so I guess that was okay. What kind of message does that send to us. Shit, 75% of the woman still supported him and still do. Oh, he did nothing wrong? Shit, I bet if he was there husband and he stuck his dick in some other chicks mouth and let her blow him and dribble it on her dress for posterity, they would't be so forgiving. For clinton to say "We can't be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans . . . ." --William J. Clinton, USA Today, March 11, 1993. and then even the congress to continue to support him, those very remarks are treasonis (sp) And whats more, the American people think this is true. I would say that less than 10% of Americans would be willing to sacrifice their life for the idea of Freedom, for the protection of life, liberty and the persuit of happiness. That is sad that the idea of Freedom, born in the hearts of men and woman that founded this country should be lost upon its heirs. Are we so eager to give up our freedom? Freedom bought and paid for with blood? I am freightened for my children and their children. Chesty, Sept, 28, 2000 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
