basically it all comes down to the fact that we are a big ass nation with a thriving economy. the more people in a country, the more likely you are to find a superior athlete there. with money comes the ability to get better training. russia is big but their economy is shit and for the most part they are predominantly caucasian. i don't intend to start a big racism debate here but african americans are typically stronger and better athletes. the us has always tended to do better in the summer olympics than the winter olympics. this is also the reason that china doesn't win more medals than us...hell they have over a billion people and a decent economy but chinese genetics just aren't quite up to speed when it comes to competing in physical competition. on the other hand they're really smart. the us just has the advantage of a large, diverse population and an economy that's doing well. flame on if you must, it's just my opinion. ------------------ | ||

I think the econmics part was right in the post before mine, but considering how a Greek won the 200 meters I won't say they have a better chance at winning... | ||

USA is a rich country with almost 300 million inhabitants. The countries that have more habitants than the USA are poor ( Who said China�s economy was good????). Black athletes aren�t better, but for them is easier to earn a life in sport than in other activities so they work hard in the sports... | ||

Also keep in mind that since the former breakup of the former Soviet Union, all the athletes compete for their respective Republics as opposed to when they were all part of the Soviet Union, they were all counted as part of that nation. If you add all the medals up from the former states on the Soviet Union, you will see that they would be as much as, if not more than the U.S. Just another angle on this..... ------------------ | ||

Because we do not have aranged marriages and the good genes can get with the good genes and make really good gene. My mom was and still is in good shape and athletic just like my day, therefore I am a badass american. hehehe | ||

I'd say its about doctors. Everyones doping but our doctors enable us to take gear closer to game time than other countries. | ||
