I am planning on going fishing oof the coast of South Florida sometime in the next few weeks. Anyone got any good fish stories to help get me pumped up? Biggest fish? I once brought a 42 lb tire right up to the boat, but it got away before I could net it. I had to stop at Good Year on the way home to pick up dinner.    | ||

OneKickass..I think your hurting Thick Dawgs delicate feelings  Groovy baby...very shaggadelic Nah THick dawg---I once caugth a fish fly fishing. That was cool. Fly fishing is hard as hell, on the river in white water. Not much ocean fishing only off hillsboro pier, and some spear fishing in the Bahamma's. I wanna do some fishing in Florida though | ||

I used to catch speckled trout a lot when I was younger and lived on the West Coast of Florida. They are really good eating but don't put up much of a fight. | ||

i went down to the keys and went fly fishing out of a canoe for redfish....great sport for next to nothing....the ish is bonefish and tarpon on a fly rod...but be prepared to lay out some lettuce...all that deep sea shit is for fat beer swilling pussies... have fun | ||

I once dropped four sticks of dynamite in a lake and the bottom was too close to the boat and we blew up a whole mess of nasty stuff and a whole in the boat. HEY I GREW UP IN WV FOR GOD SAKES! You want fish stories?? Heres some: I went yesterday to Belmar for a day of Fluke and Sea bass. I haven't been for a while so I didn't realize that they have 8 hour trips now. They used to be half day(6) and full day(12). We went out and I caught some huge fuckin doormat size fluke. I also got at least 20 Sea bass. Most were smallish, but maybe 5 were large. I didn't want any of the fish so the ship keep them in thier cooler. It was alright. I fished Florida before. Lake Okechbee. Golden shiners about 1 foot long for bait. I caught a 12 lbs large mouth and plenty weighing in from 5 to 10 pounds. It started to feel like work. Thats fishing!! I also fished salt water in the Keys. using live jumbo shrimp. We caught so many Red Snapper I was bored. Good fight but not very large. I fished galvaston Texas for Sea trout with light tackle. That was fun. I fished for Cod off the coast of Maine. The water was so deep that some of the fish would have thier guts hanging out by the time you got them up. I have also been trout fishing in Breckinridge, Co. That became like work also!!! All these places have so many fish it is sickening, while here in Jersey we have to WORK to get any fish??!!! what's the deal with that?? I have plenty more...... | ||

Never have been ocean fishing. However, just got back from my annual Northern Ontario fly-in...this was about a month ago actually. Walleye and pike. Awsome trip. Nothing truly monstrous...several 36" pike. But you have to love a fish with so much attitude. They will literally hit a lure half as big as themselves, boatside. Too Cool! But you truly haven't been fishing until you have been muskie fishing. Similar to pike with 10x the attitude! |
