I have decided to grow my own for personal consumption . My situation is this: How in the heck do I hide this from my wife and neighbors? For a small operation (4-6 plants which I plan to keep at 19-25"tall), I'm trying to use the attic. I've never attempted anything like this and I have the seeds and soil already-basically ready to roll. I'm leaning toward that self-enclosed greenhouse advertised in High Times. Is it worth it? Any creative tips or ideas to offer would be appreciated. Thanks ------------------     | ||

My brother dont ever order shit from High Times, every time your order from them your address is given to about 100 different agencies(govt) and what you ordered as well so mofos are going to know what your plan is. The only thing that isnt easy to hide is the smell therefore your going to have to invest in, actually fuck it go to this site and click security, this should help you,peace. WTF are you thinking bro. You will never be able to hide it from your wife. They know all and see all. Second only grow outdoors away from your house. Green houses are not an option third it is too late this year.(photo periods) forth you cant hide it from your wife 5th she will have to bail you out when you get caught. 6th can you afford a cultivation charge on your record. 7th how would your present employer feel about you getting arrested growing the magical herb. 8th it gets too hot in the attic 9th or it gets too cold. 10th only clones are going to stay 19 to 25 inches tall and that means another growroom for your mother plant 11th your yeild from 6 clones is only going to be an oz tops and prob. only like a l/2oz per plant. 12th it just really isnt a good idea 13th even 4 plants will smell up the whole goddamn house 14th talk your wife into giving up a closet and do it right! ------------------ | ||

I agree w/ Moe, You will never hide it from your wife and if you need to, maybe she shouldn't BE your wife. So either don't grow or let her know what's up. But I think Closets are the way, you need a closed, controled space to keep all the variable (temperature, moisture, bugs, other people, shitty weather, the list is long) in check. Also, you can really manipulate the plant life if you know how to use your light(s). Get a good book on the subject and stick to what it says. Then after you have an Idea of what your doing, you might consider changing things up. It's easy to grow weed, but it's hard to grow good quality, high yeild dope. You can deal with the smell with ion filters and ion exchange type shit. Look into it more. | ||

Oh well, I guess its not in the cards for the moment. I did order a phototron IV from the mfg, maybe I'll try 1 plant to go along with my I'll try in Feb, mixing it in with my sweet corn outside. ------------------ | ||

yeah bro the dea doesnt fuck with child molesters but dea, fbi, whatever federal agentcy isnt able to get involved in with weed unless the growroom is home to over 100 plants. There for it would be up to the local state police and they cant even close down crack houses so the odds of getting a knock and talk because you are talking about weed isnt very likely. Also just saying you are growing plants doesnt give them enough evidence to just come raid your house. Hell i straight up told an undercover cop i was growing the shit and that still wasnt enough for a warrent. You want to be really shocked check out the pot picture post on the forums on cannabisculture.com or the forums about cooking meth on hive.lycaeum.org. That site has been up since i was like 17 and no one has ever been busted because they where talking about cooking meth(federal charge)on that site. ------------------ | ||

Rules for big city growing... Only grow in the basement.. Attic will get you busted overhead.. Double insulated sealed walls (seperate room) covered in mylar not tinfoil 1500 sodium on a with fan, timer, and exaust and intake.. HYDRO AND CO2!!! Only use one bulb (elect bill) and never go over 100 plants. It's fed time... Don't ever use your car when picking up supplies! Don't even think about ordering out of "high times" ANYTHING! Clean up everything when you move.. At least thats what I have heard... | ||

Grow only in basements? Heat build up is heat build up. If like most basements there are small windows then that isnt going to help one bit. Walls covered in mylar? why when flat white paint is more reflective, easier to keep clean, and much more cost effective. 1500 wt sodium? Why when you get more lumes from a 1000 wt hps with a super bulb. Plus to my knowledge they only make vertical 1500wts which dont have a very good light distribution. Never order anything out of hightimes? Shit man alternativegardensupply is in hightimes and is prob. the best company out there. You may be a grower with limited knowledge, but I dont think so. There may be a vancouver in washington too, but last time i looked the only one i saw was in british columbia. ------------------ | ||

And that my friends is why his handle is simply Moe fucking Dank. I use one flourescent bulb for 500 plants and then add 1 red spectrum during the flowering to make the buds bud faster, I have actually heard that one before. ------------------ | ||

I cancelled the phototron, gave the seeds to the lady next door, and I guess now I'll devote my time to growing dainty lil'orchids and such shit Next thing you know I'll be watching Golden Girls reruns. Only thing they do if they catch you with such a small amount is make you goto a drug awareness class then they drop the charges. california = dope growers heaven buy a 400 or 600wt HPS from alternativegarden.com and roll with it. It's a seperate room you build in the basement we have special cop helecopters that sense excess heat.. this hides it as much as possible.. 2x4 construction double insulation sealed walls.. Have you never heard of this?? it's the staple for a good hydro setup.. It has a intake and a exaust.. A fan on the rotating hood and a couple over fans throughout. First off each 1000wt on 12hours per day uses 12 kilowatts of electricity 12kwhx.06 is .70 cents per day x 30 is $21.00 per month. Depending on where you live it can me .03 cents per kwh or up to .12 per kwh. I havent ever grown hydro. I have grown areoponics but I and everyone else like organicly grown herb. It taste sweeter and isnt as harsh. Hydro doesnt add potentcy. Just yeilds more, faster, and makes the pot stink to high hell. Your magical helicopters have what is called thermal imagery. You build your magic box it wont help a goddamn thing. You keep running your goddamn mouth about parts per million and co2. WTF do you want to know about it MR 14lbs from 18 clones. get lost chump you need to do some more reading. ------------------ | ||

Your first post to me stated that your "pet peave" was people commenting about stuff then know nothing about.. I think you should take your own advice.. I have been reg here since Oct 98 yet I have only made a little over 100 posts.. You make over 2400 in less than 4 months.. Looks like maybe you should read a little more and not be giving orders for people to "go away"... So you say my room on the basement won't do shit against the helecopters but again you are talking about something you know nothing about.. BTW just because someone proves you wrong doesn't make then a chump.. It makes them right.. Put that in you pipe and smoke it.. P.S. You got it havoc.. Actually I don't even grow anymore.. To risky.. I quit 5 years ago.. All I got from growing was a nasty drug habit and a record.... When I quit growing I was 6'0" 185 29% BF five years later 6'0" 245 12% BF Guess you could say I have a new addiction... Nice chatting with you moe.. Good to see I got your panties all in a bundle..
