I've not been in the audience at very many bb shows. Is it common practise for the emcee to poll the audience about who THEY feel should win the competition while the competitors are standing on stage?

Obviously the evening show is just that, a show and the real competition is in the AM at the pre-judging, and, of course, the audience is never filled with qualified judges, but I've not seen this done before and I just wondered if it was common.
