where is it and why was it deleted if it was?? from what i gathered so far, he just pulled out his medical ethics book and gave an argument why HE THOUGHT mongloid babies should be put to death. i thought we could have opinions, or can we not? i see matt thinks prisoners have no rights... thats different??? oh, no need to flame me, i am curious and think a few of you over reacted... but then again, i have yet to see his post, so i dont know. i will say this, if you feel that strongly against what he has said, dont take any medical ethics courses... because that is an OLD argument... and it has its merits. i for one, would try my best to convince my wife (at the time of course) to abort the baby if any known defects were present... am i allowed to think that??? or no?     | ||

i agree with you madbomber, then again there are those that would go up in arms just at the fact that you mentioned "abort". Dread's response was to a post that another bro had started regarding a "mentally challenged" guy at the gym who was clowning him. dread simply mentioned an opinion which was along the same lines as some of the other bros. alot of the other bros, were in agreement with the original author's position to be upset with the "retarded guy". dread had stated his opinion and one person had a problem, then others who knew that person jumped on the bandwagon etc. mods started taking sides, and the sheep followed. im just giving an overview/my impression of the situation. i could give a rat's ass what the topic was, its just a shame that people's morality can be so easily swayed to follow popular opinion. you bring up a good point regarding "what if it were your unborn child". chances are since it is still acceptable to abort these days, most would abort. ------------------ | ||

It shows how a mob can get started in real life. There are few leaders in the world most people are followers. This is evident in the way the military is structured, with platoons being lead by sergeants as an example. So when one strong person makes a claim and leads the masses usually people will follow blindly. Emotion sweeps the floor with reason left long past in the wind. An instance of this is the Salem which trials. It also shows how politician must carefully watch each word and action they illustrate to the public. That is how they obtain the reputation of being liars and twofaced. They cannot publicly speak of their true agenda since the majority does not have the knowledge to truly understand the logic beside the agenda. I can site numerous examples of these claims. What it comes down to is simply is the average person is dangerous. This includes me as well. We are damn lucky that we have a government that functions well. Since it takes crafty people to get elected into office, more crafty than we are. These are complex topics with many sides and pitfalls. That is why they are not spoken about since there are no easy answers. |
