i just wanted to say i took a few days off from the board since everyone was about to take my head off, and just chilled out a little. some of my posts were intentionally done to cause arguments, while others were simply my viewpoint. in the future i will try to refrain from making excessively childish comments. i must say that the people on this board need to think why someone might have their view, rather than just crucifying them because of it. believe me, there is a long and complicated backstory to why i feel the way i do towards depression. i am sure no one wants me to get into it, nor am i capable of doing so anyway. | ||

It's always good to examine your own reasons for reacting so strongly, to better understand yourself. That goes for both sides of what's been going on here. It's also good to examine the other person, the one making statements which seem callous and cruel. However, past experience does not excuse cruelty. While I was treated badly as a child, I refuse to strike my own son in anger. Thank you for communicating with this post, D1734. Please realize that, regardless of an individual's history, when he says something that many perceive to be going way past any bounds of respect or decency, many other people will speak out vociferously against his statements. If you put something out there, you must realize that sometimes people will have strong reactions against what you say. It's a risk we take every time we open our mouths. Be true to yourself, just don't expect everyone to love or even respect everything you say. Peace. |
