Being married for almost 17 years before being divorced, I have met only one lady (my ex-girlfriend) and that was by pure chance.

My question is this: How would you approach someone you would like to ask out without
sounding cheesy and such (how would you like to be approached). Being out of the dating
game for so long has a big disadvantage. I am more interested in getting to know someone
as opposed to getting laid (which is least on my mind) I am not looking for one nighters
and such. Yada, yada, I ramble.

hey bro....im not a women ..but i figured i would throw so words your way....

the best advice i could ever give someone is to be yourself when you approach a women...just act the way you would act ..in any other situation...think of it like this ..they are just another person..not anything special...and introduce yourself to them....and take it from there ..always seems to work for me ...

I hear what your saying, but I get this really nervous twitchy feeling in the pit of my stomach, if I am even considering going and talking to them. Anyone else no problem.

I just don't want to look like I am on the "prowl", I only go to work and the gym.

I remeber one time lying down on my bed thinking about life. We are here for such a short time. There is no time to be all weirded out. The worst she can say is yes or no. What is the problem? Live fun, live fast, live on the edge.

steel, its not that easy dude... ya, NO is the worse thing she can say, but RIPPIING OUT THE OLE HEART organ can hurt... and rejection sucks and brings people down no matter what...

on that note, you gotta just ask chesty, or you will never know... dude, whip off the shirt and say "wanna fuck"?

I have been thinking about that, maybe it is just beginners nerves. We'll see how it goes at the gym tonight, got legs, should be impressive.

It is the fear of rejection (the word no) that is the main problem.

Chesty Bro, What you said in your initial post should make a great opening. Sequi into the topic of a date from that point. The worst thing a woman can say to you is, and trust me on this I know, "Mines bigger than yours.", as she shows you "her" Penis! So hearing "no" can be a better alternative.
