the following is from the communist manifesto .....

1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.

3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.

5. Centralization of credit in the banks of the state, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.

6. Centralization of the means of communication and transport in he hands of the state.

7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state; the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.

8. Equal obligation of all to work. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.

9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country.

10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc.

my question to you is does any of this look familiar?

graduated income tax
inheritence taxes
free education

good grief
we're being taxed to death here and nobody seems to give a damn

please
wake
the
fuck
up

Guys ... not to out-whine you or anything but here, in Canada the highest tax bracket is 51.33% and the LOWEST is around 40% in most provinces, so 40% doesn't seem that bad to me

hate to say it but our public school systems for the most part are worth what they are paid for by parents: shit. Some are good but most are pretty shotty (at least in CA) I dont think anyone is complaining about tax dollars that go to SCHOOLS and not the pockets of overly inflated school budgets..

i believe in a low flat tax like 10 or 15 %
the education of somebody's kid is not my reponsibility, if you made it then you pay for it
hell, half the kids cant even fucking comprehend the daily newspaper
our tax dollars in action
what a waste

well, u are kinda talking in circles...first u don't want to pay for education, and then u say that there is not enough education...i'm not sure where exactly u went to school, but saying half the kids can't comprehend the newspaper is a tad exagerated(at least in my experience)...remember the road u drove on to get to work, the lamplights that light your way, the police, firefighters, etc...i'll admit, though--red tape accounts for a ridiculous amount of wasted money

Leaf,

You put all those words in Dirk's mouth. He isn't talking in cirlces. You are misunderstanding him orotherwise inventing his words to try to create some sort of argument for yourself. You've failed. You still have said nothing coherent.

Dirk is saying that we are getting screwed and no one is listening. he is also saying a flat tax is a good idea - everyione pays the same regardless of wealth. Why should Person A at $40,00 pay less (proportionally) than person B at $400,000?

It's unfair.

Public schools generally suck. Why should I pay for your child's education? That child is the parent's responsibilty. I would personally like to see the separation of schools and state.

I could go on and on.

I believe in minimal government. Make it smaller. Stop re-appropriating my earnings. It's nice to know I work until April for other people every year. I fucking love that.

Matt

PS Dirk if you see this email me when you have time.

Matt you posted:

It is called "vertical equity".

I am not disagreeing with your position, simply answering your question. I agree that the current tax system is completely out of hand. Even more than a flat tax I would advocate a national sales tax and abolition of the IRS. It seems sensible to tax consumption and reward saving.

i believe our taxes are way to high, unfair for higher wage earners, stunts economic growth, causes class warfare, etc....

shit rolls down hill
the poor are the ones who suffer most because of our bullshit tax system

and roads, police, fire, street lights, and big fucking prisons are what i like paying for and i love it when police beat the shit out of people who run from them, sorry had to throw that last one in there

shitty schools, welfare, sorry ass postal service, and various other subsidized govt garbage like this is what i despise

My feelings,

I have never minded paying taxes. We need $ for infrastructure. I also don't mind having some of that $ used for helping out those less fortunate.

What I detest is having my tax $ wasted and stolen by those who refuse to be held accountable.

Whether it's state, local, or Federal, There is such a huge wasteful bureaucracy that they have to keep raising taxes to keep levels of services status quo. That is what I hate.

Face it, there are also many people in this country who make an art out of abusing the system. Welfare cheats, overpaid teachers, fat cat politicians who line their pockets with kick back money, lawyers abusing the courts and getting rich on dumb lawsuits. We are like the flock of sheep that just sits back and allows ourselves to be devoured by the wolves.

Wake up America! This could be the start of the collapse.
