The other night on the news I saw that several (predominatly black) legislators are trying to gain a government settlement for all the black descendants of early american slaves. I see lots of problems that this will cause with our already stressed economy. First of all these people really did not suffer, it was their great great great grandparents - why should they get a settlement? Should I get a settlement if my great great great uncle was in a car wreck 80 years ago? In the 1800's a law was passed in Missouri that those of my religion should be either driven from the state or exterminated. Many of my religion (men, woemn and children) were indeed slaughtered at places like Hauns Mill in Missouri. We suffered extreme prejudice because of our religious faith. We had to flee to one of the most uninhabitable (at the time) places in the USA to simply survive. Yet do to hard work (not mentioned in affirmative action plans) we made it an extremely profitable and wealthy place. You don't hear any of MY PEOPLE crying about how our anscestors were treated. Because of slavery they now live in one of the most prosperous countries in the world. Would they rather have been left in the Sudan or Zimbabwe? Western Europeans and Americans (USA) learned the slave trade from other Africans (who practiced in thousands of years ago, and still practice black slavery today in places such as Sudan). Its not like Europeans nor Americans invented it. Because of slavery they can live in a country where the poorest of the poor have a better lifestyle then about 75% of all the other humans who inhabit this earth. You also don't hear these same black offering to send whatever money our government would give them to help the plight of present day black slaves in Africa. If they were really sincere in trying to overcome the injustices of slavery done to blacks, they would voluntarily earmark that money to try and benefit the people who are AT THIS TIME slaves. But no - instead they just are greedy. I am not Jewish but Jews (who are white) were slaves to blacks/Africans (In Egypt) for 400 years. Blacks were slaves to whites for about 100 years. Perhaps the Jews ought to ask for remuneration from any black that can trace his anscestry back to northern Africa? It seems to me the blacks owe them 4 times as much as the USA might owe any blacks - since the Jews were slaves 4 times longer. Of course I am just being facetious here. This is not meant to be a rale on blacks - but on all the deadbeat, Jerry Springer poeple with the "poor victim" attitude. Stop crying and earn a living like most Americans. Be judged on the merit of your ability and hard work and quit ALLOWING yourself to be treated as a victim.    | ||

I agree with you except for when you said the jews were slaves to blacks in Egypt. The Egyptians were the same color as the "chosen people" of God. Remember, there are people who's sole purpose is to work around the clock trying to start issues that will be of the sole benefit of their race. Thats just part of living in a free country.  | ||

The part of Jews and Egypt was meant to be somewhat facetious and pointed. I am sure Louis Farrakhan would disagree with you however about Egyptians and Jews being the same color. Jews were also slaves in Ethiopia by the way. And many blacks claim Jesus was actually black because he came out of Egypt. So this was meant to be a facetious comment related to the many claims FROM the black community regarding Jews, Jesus, Egypt, Africa and slavery. | ||

This is so typical, yet another example of a deadbeat trying to get something for nothing. It pisses me off to hear they are trying to settle on some bullshit like that, but I believe it, some people just feel that everything is owed to them. ------------------ | ||

TxCollegeGuy - I would have to agree with you in that respect. If it was not for the gambling casinos I doubt most reservations would enjoy much economic prosperity at all. And I am not being facetious about that. I have never gambled (not even lottery) and some may look down on casinos, but it has been a good way for many Am. Indian reservations to increase the socioeconomic state of those living on the residents. The prejudice against Am. Indians is still very heavy - much heavier then I think it has been against blacks (in part because it is less publicized). One sees blacks on the US Supreme Court but no Am. Indians (maybe its because Am. Indians don't share soda and pubic hairs with their secretaries). Blacks are mayors of several cities such as Washington where they get to enjoy crack and whores with the rest of the political elite. Not that I would wish crack, whores and lazy assed opulance (such as is often enjoyed by our political elite) upon the Am. Indians. | ||
