Help! I am caught between 2 worlds it seems. I was raised as a christian however, I went into the New Age about 6 years ago to cure my depression etc. and yes I turned my life around. Although, I let all that I learnt slip away and although I am mentally stable I am not succeeding in life as I want to. I want to use the techniques for self empowerment provided by new age authors and so called occultist however I do not want to be doing something that may be detrimental to me. Is it "evil". Where do you draw the line between the work of the "black arts" and self improvement. I went and saw a tarot reader and a cousin of mine who is not a christian but considers himself a warlock says I am messing with the 'black arts' I believe there is a 'dark side' out there however it seems that it is these books that help me the most in my life. I am reading some occult books now and they are making me feel uneasy although the info will turn my life around I know it.     | ||

Just trust yourself. Whatever religious or spiritual undertaking you accept must work for you. That is all that really matters about it anyway. Just look at what you are doing, and what you are reading, and think if it helps you or not. If it does then proceed, and if it doesn't or feels black or evil or something, then don't. Personally, I think the common thread of spirituality is present in every religion. The Christians are just paranoid that someone else might have a point. It also has a lot to do with money like MD said. | ||
