Whats your favorite?

I've picked up a few on ebay, so far all have been real-thank god. I've also purchased a couple from bernardwatches.com

My favorite is the Submariner. I have one from the 70's. Got the papers, but no box. Wear it every day whether working, playing, or going out for dinner.

My favorite that I don't have- 18K Daytona.

One of these days......

I have a stainless steel Date Just with an electric blue face. I bought it used for $1,500. How's about a gold Presidential with a diamond bezel and black face with diamonds on each hand?

President's are nice, but the whole diamond bezel-face thing reminds me too much of hip-hop rap stars or fat Texas oilmen. The prez is classy enough without the glitter.

uhh You buy Rolex's on E-bay? I dont know about that man. I have seen some very real looking fakes that I couldnt even tell the difference and I am pretty familiar with them. I suppose you go to a rolex dealer and have the serial # inside the watch looked at for authenticity as the docs are as easily faked as the watches. How much did you pay for them?

It is nearly impossible to tell the real from the fakes unless your a jewler. I got a really nice Presidential Replica. It has the see-thru back (auto-windup) with the jewels inside, diamond bezel, smooth second hand motion etc. Got it for like $100 from a guy I know who sells them. Here in a few years I want to get a real one but man for a nice presedential your looking at $20K+ and mine looks just as good really but its just not the same I guess.

I've had everyone of them checked out by authorized dealers. I go in under the premise of having them cleaned and have them check the S/N. Like i said, so far-no fakes.

I have not bought a lot from ebay (maybe 3). I get most of them from bernardwatch.com-a very reputable dealer and the prices are the same as ebay-just no sniping and customer service is fantastic. I've paid anywhere from 900-2000. I got my Sub/date for 1400 5 years ago from an estate auction.

But you are all right-fakes are sometimes hard to distingush from the real thing. I've almost been taken in on a couple of gun show deals. First thing I look for: milled stem cap, weight, watchband has to be a little stretched plus screws in the links, crystal.
Plus if a deal is too good to be true, it probably is.

If you are getting them for an investment you will do well. They do not keep very good time. I have an original rolex box if you need one. Good shape $75.00 I believe retail is around $125.00.

The way to tell if a Rolex is real is if the second hand sweeps or ticks> If it sweeps, it's the real thing!
