hey all. i love the breed. i had one for 5 years but she died of CHF. i hated going through that, but its been 3 years now and i think i am ready to get another one. i am just worried about going through it again. to this day i cannot think of that dog without hitting a SOFT spot. she was the greatest animal ever. anyone wanna chime in? maybe you know a breeder or something.

ive owned dobermans all my life...nothing special or fancy...all of them have been rescued from abusive owners...all were excellent dogs....my favorite rachel, was shot in the leg...somebody (a vet maybe) tried to re-wire her left leg back, but didnt clip the tag end of the wire...everytime she would lay down it would poke out of her skin...she had a massive infection when i got her, but a decent doc set her straight...she got real fat and lived a happy three legged life for over 10 years.... i currently have a min-pin and a jack russel...min-pins are excellent entertainment

When you say "mini pin", are you refering to those little ass Dobermans that are like 1 foot long and weigh about 5lbs.? A friend of mine has one and that little thing is a riot! They love to play and bounce around the house like they lost their mind! I wouldn't mind having one of those. ------------------

yep- they are freakin nuts...they have no idea that they only weigh like 7 pounds...a good one will set you back some...dont be fooled into buying a clipped manchester terrier....those and jack russels are the best apartment dogs...

We've owned a total of 5. Beautiful dogs. Unfortunately, I currently live right downtown and there is no room for them here. Excellent companion and excellent guard dog. Very easily trained. Last one I owned was hit by a transport and had to be put down. Jaw was ripped almost completely off. Still hurts to think about how she looked in the back of the car ... ------------------

Have had my Doberman for the last 6 years. They are great family dogs, athletes, protectors, amusement, etc. Treat these dogs kindly and they will be the most loyal, loving dog you will ever have. But beware of back yard breeders. Choose a reputable breeder and if possible check out the parents.

ah dude, min pins crack me up.. they think they are the real deal, packin a solid 80lbs... NOT QUITE!!! i have had cats bigger then them... they are all attitude, funny shit. as for my dobe, i miss her to death.. gettin a tat on sept 3rd which is in memory of her... her bday was sept 3, 92... so i am getting a sun with nine points, 3 will have a blue in them... then all nine will have yellow in them, and two will have an orange in them... 9-3-92... anyway, you guys ever go through the congestive heart failure??? god damn, its terrible.. spent a few grand for a few extra "good months" for her. she was big for a female, but such a baby... slept under the covers, and would cry till i let her under.. funny as shit. protective of my mom too, i liked that. cannot wait to get another. |
