Figured I'd start a baseball discussion. Do you think Todd Helton will hit .400? I say no. AL MVP? Frank Thomas or Carlos Delgado. Gotta go with Delgado. NL MVP? Gary Sheffield or Helton. Leaning towards Sheffeild due to the whole Coor's field advantage.

Even if Helton hits .400, it won't count. Hell, does anyone on Colorado have a BA below .300? Jim Abbott could hit .300 there. AL MVP= hmmm, good question. I don't think there should be one this year. NL MVP= Randy Johnson. What is he, like 20-1 with a 0.65 ERA? Unbelievable numbers.

I don't think Johnson will win the MVP, simply because if a pitcher was going to win the MVP, Pedro would have won it last year.

Shef for MVP? Ya damn right.
Pedro is the best pitcher in baseball now, if not ever. All he needs is a no-hitter under his belt.

Johnson has not pitched well in his last 5 starts, lost three of five and has given up a lot of runs 16-4 2.30era for the year so far still very good numbers. My MVP vote would go to NL Helton AL Frank Thomas.

I hate when people talk shit about Helton playing in Colorado, all Colorado does is give advantages to homeruns, Helton is leading the leauge in Doubles, Runs, Hits, and Batting Average, not homeruns, that motherfucker gets 2 or 3 hits a game and that is fucking ridicoulous, if he doesn't win the MVP it would be a sham, if your going to discredit him because of Colorado, well then discredit Larry Walkers MVP a couple years back. I really hope Helton can hit .400, he has hit some shit like .560 the past 3 weeks, I think it can be done, but Its going to be a disgrace if people discredit him for playing in Colorado. Now if he had 40 homeruns and is about to break Macs record, then you can talk about Colorado, Helton is the complete package, goes to the opposite field just as much as he pulls the ball, MVP all the way.

Erstad and Piazza are good MVP choices.
I think Helton will hit .400 even though I think it sucks,he's hitting close to .500 at home.Gimme a break.
It seems the Indians have really gotten it together over last 10 games or so,I wouldn't be surprised to see them come out with a pennant.

coors field IS a joke and it DOES help batting average as well as homers (just look at the home/road breakdowns in every year since the park opened)

however, i gotta' give SOME props to helton 'cuz i think he's hittin' close to .350 on the road, which certainly ain't too shabby.

delgado (slightly ahead of frank thomas and pedro) should be AL mvp.

Baseball is cool, but places like Coors Field make baseball kind of sucky. It's boring now. It's just some dude standing at home place swinging for the fences every time. The games last forever now, too. I'd like to see the parks get bigger, see more pitching duals, more strategy, more stolen bases, hit and runs, squeeze bunts, things that make baseball exciting. Home runs are getting boring. There's like five a game, they don't inspire awe anymore.

I will never watch a baseball game or watch one on tv for the rest of my life.

Ever since the players went on strike years ago.

I have no problem with their salaries, but when they whine(and they all did) about not getting fair treatment and picketing like they were your average Joe's pissed me off to no end. The owners too! Piss on em all, I'd rather watch college ball anytime.
