Mine is the ocean. I love the water! I just have a fear of the size of the ocean. Think about how helpless one would be out there... Just the thought kills me!

The ocean thing has alway messed me up too.
Spiders have always been high on my list also.

But nothing screws me up like the dark. Can't stand not being able to see. Just can't stand the fact that I can't see whats going on.

swimming in the ocean, i'm always afraid a jellyfish or shark is going to get me. there is just to many things that can hurt you in the ocean.

being i places i don't know anyone.

heights, just like vitaman said. if i'm on a roller coaster or something, it doesn't bother me. if i'm not in something, or if i don't have a railing, i'm scared as hell.

being helpless. like if i have to watch a family member or something else get hurt, and i can't do anything about it.

thats about it.

I've worked passed it, though. Forced myself on all those damn rides at the fair, always take a window seat when I travel, jumping off 60 foot cliffs into a tiny pool of water, etc, etc.

Now I actually enjoy heights. That feeling of total fright I got before is now turned into a feeling of exhiliration. I can't really explain how, but when I'm standing on the edge of a cliff and about to jump, it's a pure adrenaline rush for me now.

I was buried alive. It was dark, no light could pentrate that 300 lbs whale. I was stuck under her. I tried to move my legs, no luck. I paniced, I was losing air, my life flashed before my eyes. I was 18 at the time so it flashed too quickly. I had it flash again so I could see what I missed. Then I remembered the snorkle, it smelled like ass, but it was air. I wouldn't suffocate. I might be crushed to death tho. I stayed this way til the next morning. I had sobered up since then, struggling to hold on to life, hoping that none of my roomates saw me under such a fatty. I swore that if I got out of this alive, I would never drink again. If I did drink again, I would never go hogging or use my beer goggles again. If I did, I swore I would tie a rope around my door, to pull myself out with. Just then, I felt something poking my leg, it was sharp. I stuggled to put my hand in my pocket, what was it? My keys! My keys were in my pocket! I worked them around until I finally got them out. Maybe I can wake this fatty up. I jabbed a few times trying to get a thin spot, there wasn't one. I heard my roomates alarm clock going off, my will to live was fading. I used all the strength I had left and jabbed one more time. It stirred. I jabbed again, and a little more movement. I had to hurry, if my roomates saw me like this I would never live it down...I started whispering sweet nothings...ice cream...chocolate cake...pie...I guess I hit the jackpot cause she jumped up, put her circus tent dress back on, a barreled toward the door. The butter had melted off the thighs, but she wasn't stopping. She charged the door full speed, took the door and frame with her. She kept going, running up the road towards McDs. My roomates came running out of their rooms yelling "What was that?" I thought for a second and couldn't bring myself to tell them of my terrible night.

my fear is suffocating or drowning ....just that helpless felling of not being able to take a breath ...and then your done ...that is what i fear most of all

I had nightmare for weeks!!!!!!!

I had to learn that I was the one I was truly afraid of. I was holding myself back from enjoying my life and being able to pursue all of the things that my heart desired because I was always afraid of being "punished" for all the mistakes that I had made - this fear was PARALYZING!

Now, I know that I have to learn to forgive myself, accept and learn from my mistakes and move on to bigger and better things. Mistakes are actually really neat things - if you can take them and turn them around into something positive.

I fear rape or other physical abuse.

I can deal with spiders, snakes, mice, the ocean etc...death is okay by me, so is God. But a man and his fists....that scares me.

Something else I fear: You know when a room is in front of you, and the lights are off in that room, and the door isn't totally closed, but there's about an inch open, and that inch allow you to look into the room, but because the room is dark, it just looks pitch black, I HATE that! I always feel like someone's staring at me from the other side!!
I always get up and fully close the damn door!

I used to FEAR roaches, but lately I've gotten over it.
